As a senior at nationally ranked Mater Dei High School, Adam Hurtado was a highly recruited offensive lineman in the Pac Ten until a knee injury cut his football career too short. A good Catholic schoolboy who found himself lost as a college freshman who gained more than the usual 15 pounds, more than 50 to be exact, Adam relied on the support of his family to help him get back on track. Then, only a few years later, in July of 2024, Adam’s mother passed away from a massive heart failure, caused by obesity and diabetes. Losing his confidant and best friend, Adam could have become self-destructive, instead, it’s what drives him to have a new outlook on life. Not wanting to follow his mother’s lead, Adam is ready lose the weight, with the support of his family and best friend Matt Leinart, former USC and current Arizona Cardinals’ quarterback.
