Whole Body Research Ingredients and Side Effects

Here are some select ingredients used in their supplements:

Fish Oil Green Tea Extract Bromelain Stimaluma (Caralluma Fimbriata Extract) Amylase
Lactobacillus Acidophilus Bacillus Coagulans Lactobacillus Sporogenes Bifidobacterium Lactis Lactobacillus Fermentum

Fish Oil: Fatty acid source known to improve mental function and reduce inflammation. There’s a possibility for side effects when taken at high doses.

At more than 3 grams a day it can increase the risk for improver blood clotting, and it might reduce the immune system. Web MD adds:

“might also reduce the immune system activity, reducing the body’s ability to fight infection”

Caution must also be exercised due to the possibility for heavy metal contamination. If it’s not sourced from a quality environment, it may contain trace amounts of lead, mercury, and other damaging substances. Possible side effects can include:

  • Headaches, bad breathe, and fish odor.
  • Nausea, loose stool, and rash.
  • Nosebleeds, burps, and heartburn.

Green Tea Extract: Commonly found tea which has trace amounts of stimulants and it’s used to increase metabolism whole providing antioxidants.

The National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health has researched this and found:

“haven’t been shown to produce meaningful weight loss”

They also found that:

“Liver problems have been reported in small number of people”

This included those who took a concentrated green tea extract, just like the one used in these supplements. This extract can often times contain caffeine, and it’s unknown how much is added.

Bromelain: Enzyme found in pineapple which is used to reduce inflammation and prevent pain. Potential side effects can include:

  • Diarrhea, upset stomach, and nausea.
  • Allergies, loose stools, and discomfort.

Slimaluma (Caralluma Fimbriata Extract): Patented version of the Caralluma Fimbriata cactus. It’s made by Gencor and is said to be specially patented to improve its appetite reducing properties.

Research on whether or not it’s effective is conflicted, with some studies showing no weight loss effects. It may lead to side effects that include:

  • Constipation, stomach pain, and gas.

Lactobacillus Acidophilus: A kind of bacteria used to absorb nutrients and help prevent unhealthy bacteria from existing.

Whole Body Research Quality of Ingredients

There are many different ingredients used depending on the specific brand chosen. Some use a high amount of bacteria which is used to promote a healthier digestive tract.

There’s also the use of a patented form of Caralluma Fimbriata, which is still lacking information on whether or not it’s proven effective for appetite suppression.

A major issue with the heavy use of healthy bacteria is that this often does not stay fresh. Bacteria need to be processed in a way where it’s exposed to changing temperatures, fresh, and not tampered with.

In taking manufactured bacteria you don’t know if you’re getting a fresh batch, and this can diminish the overall quality. For a list of the top ranked weight loss diets, click the link here.

The Price and Quality of Whole Body Research

Prices vary on the specific brand chosen. Their Active Biotics is meant to reduce junk food cravings and improve nutrient absorption. A full 30 day supple sells for $39.99.

While these ingredient are made in a GMP approve facility, they fail to mention what steps are taken to ensure the sensitive bacteria doesn’t die.

The company has also had many issues with customer service, as you’ll learn about in the next section of this review.

I tried their key/probiotics for a few months and experienced absolutely no change in energy or anything else beneficial whatsoever; returned the empty bottles for a full refund. I just finished trying their krill oil capsules with exactly the same nil results; am sending back the empties again for what I hope will be another full $60 refund for 3 bottles. I will not be ordering any more items from these people because I have no confidence in their claims, But I am not bitter or angry because they did a refund before and will probably do one this time. If they stiff me I will be angry, but they treated me fine before for 3 times the refund…
