Ashley Judd appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night to talk about all of our favorite things—especially food. Here’s part 1 of the interview (you can find the rest of their hangout at ABC.com or on YouTube).

In the spirit of SXSW, Kimmel and Judd joked about their love of food, with Judd saying that she had “eaten her way through the lone star state.” Judd admitted that she spends a majority of her time in a new film role planning the food she will eat on set, and she also thoroughly discussed her love of Do-Rite Donuts in Chicago. Judd shared that good ol’ old fashioned doughnuts are her favorite kind, so much so that a whole box of them ended up on her chair on the set of her latest film Divergent.
Apparently, she doesnt’ always have an easy time getting her fave flavor. Said Judd:
“They are very difficult to find these days. It has an interesting crumb around the edge and they use valrhona chocolate.”
Kimmel and Judd joked about having an eating contest, though when Judd admitted that she’s not a huge red meat eater, Kimmel joked about having a broccoli eating contest instead, later teasing her that she was fat-shaming him after she reassured everyone that she works out a lot.
Judd looked gorgeous, and very fit in her interview, so how is she burning those doughnut calories?
Zumba, of course! Judd endearingly explained her relationship with Zumba, which she started as a way to “cross train her brain,” though now she just “likes to wiggle.”
Judd also shared her love of state fairs, including a picture of her and some adorable pigs from the Wilson County Fair in Tennessee—though she reassured Kimmel and the audience that she would never eat those pigs.
Judd is in the upcoming film Divergent alongside Kate Winslet and Shailene Woodley.
