We’ve seen countless products dreamt up, designed, manufactured, and made into a reality by way of crowdfunding. Instead of seeking traditional bank loans or venture capital money, sites like Kickstarter and Indiegogo let entrepreneurs turn to the public for investments in their vision, offering “rewards” for their support. The latest to come across our radar: the HYPERICE VYPER, the second creation of Anthony Katz, founder of HYPERICE.
The company says the VYPER can benefit anyone who takes pride in staying active and improving their well being. On the outside, VYPER looks like any other foam roller. It’s on the inside, however, that you’ll find the magic. VYPER contains a three-speed motor that outputs high-intensity and high-frequency vibrations as you use it. With that in mind, HYPERICE claims the following benefits:
- Loosens and lengthens muscles, increasing range of motion and flexibility
- Increases circulation, ideal for warming up the body before physical activity
- Helps reduce muscle soreness and stiffness for better recovery
- Effective tool for myofascial release
These results have already caught the attention of several professional athletes who are testing and using the VYPER now. Adrian Peterson, running back and NFL MVP for the Minnesota Vikings and former OU record-setter his freshman year, had this to say about using VYPER:
“I’m always looking to challenge and push my body to the next level. The VYPER helps me prepare my body so I can train at a high level and helps me recover faster so I can get back at it the next day. I use the VYPER every day to keep my body in peak condition.”
Peterson isn’t the only one impressed with this new tech so far. Other athletes like fellow Sooner Blake Griffin, forward for the Los Angeles Clippers and NBA All-Star, talked about his experience with VYPER in a recent interview, saying:
“As an athlete I am always looking for the best tools and technology to help keep my body healthy. The VYPER prepares my body for training and helps my muscles recover after games. It is an essential part of my routine and enables my body to perform at the highest level through the grind of a long season.”
You’ll find the VYPER on Kickstarter, where the company originally set out to raise $100,000 to start the manufacturing process. They’ve already exceeded that funding goal, and still have 28 days left to go as of this writing. For your money, there are several incentive rewards available to choose from. You can essentially pre-order your own VYPER with a $249 contribution. The expected delivery is in November. For an extra $150, you get an autographed VYPER from one of the company’s four main athletes: Blake Griffin, Adrian Peterson, Lindsey Vonn, or Troy Polamalu. All fundraising options are limited quantity, and several levels have already sold out.
