The long awaited nuptials of Biggest Loser’s Sam Poueu and Stephanie Anderson are finally here! People reported today that the couple is getting married tomorrow, April 28, in San Francisco, California.
The gorgeous couple met as contestants on Biggest Loser season nine, and immediately hit it off. While the two were there looking for weight loss they ended up finding love. They lost weight too, a lot in fact! Sam lost more than 130 pounds and Stephanie lost 99 pounds. No proposal happened at the live finale for their season, but a few months later, during filming for a Where Are They Now special, Sam took Stephanie back to the gym on the ranch and popped the question. Of course she said yes!
The couple has faced struggles in the seven months leading up to their big day. Last September, Sam suffered a life-threatening fall from a four-story building, but quick medical attention and on-going care that took him from ICU to a rehabilitation center has him back on his feet and ready to say I Do! Fans across the nation held digital vigil as Sam made a triumphant recovery, and Stephanie frequently expressed her gratitude for the support.

Don’t think that the confetti falls on the Biggest Loser finale and the contestants walk away with a clean bill of health and a pass to settle in to their new reality. No, for many, there can still be much work to do on their weight, continued learning on fitness and nutrition, and the effort to instill new healthy habits. That is the case for season nine finalist Ashley Johnston and season nine at-home winner Koli Palu.
The two spent the past week at the Biggest Loser Resort, where Ashley says she’s still working to trim away an additional 15 pounds to reach her goal. She says she’s not in any hurry though, and happy to lose it at a slow, healthy rate of about two pounds per week. Joining her is Koli, who transversely is working to gain weight. He says his finale weight of 188 pounds “would be impossible” to maintain, and he’s working to reach the 220-230 range, a weight he thinks is healthy and sustainable.
Ashley and Koli aren’t just good friends spending a week at the Resort, though. It broke last week that the two are now a couple, a relationship they say was founded in becoming the best of friends at the ranch, and that they decided to push to the next level during their recent trip to the San Francisco Triathlon. When asked why Biggest Loser turns out so many lasting relationships, as opposed to the many failures by Bachelor and Bachelorette, he says “this is experience is totally real” and bashes the idea of meeting someone and falling in love in a brief four-week period.

With the Bachelorette just wrapping another season of what will no doubt end in tabloid headlines of broken hearts and promises, the Biggest Loser is announcing another match made in weight loss heaven.
From the recent season nine, Ashley, a finalist, and Koli, the at-home winner, have let the public know that they are in love. A little surprised? We were too! A lot of fans, including us, were anxiously waiting to hear that season nine winner Michael Ventrella had won not only the $250,000 but also Ashley’s heart. Michael has confessed in the past that he and Ashley are nothing more than very good friends.

Meet Sam Poueu and Koli Palu, two of the newest contestants joining Biggest Loser season nine. These Tongan/Samoan cousins weigh-in at 372 and 403 pounds respectively, and say they’re ready to get themselves and their families in better health.
With a history of athletics, both as athletes and coaches, Sam and Koli will no doubt prove to be forces on the Biggest Loser ranch.
