Well, well, well. Looks like that much anticipated time is here. Makeover week!!! All those months of blood, sweat and tears as well as the wear and tear your body goes through are rewarded with just a bit of pampering. The guys may not want to admit it, but it’s just as special for them as it is for the girls. I know my beard was getting to the point where I was about ten days away from leading prayer and was dying to shave it off. My hair was also getting a wee bit feathery for my liking. It is makeover week on the Biggest Loser! Makeover week is a very fun and exciting time for the contestants, and all of us fans as well. For weeks they have been going through hell to change their lives, but the contestants never really have a chance to get a feel for their new bodies. Makeover week is the first chance that these contestants can really see what they’ve done for themselves. Everyone looked amazing for their makeovers, you can really get a feel for how much weight each contestant lost.
The journey of Laura Denoux on the Biggest Loser can simply be summed up by two milestones. The first, early on in the season Jillian Michaels called her “the weakest link” on the team and publicly called her out for bringing down the team. The second, her final weigh-in displayed a +3 gain that would send her home after an emotional farewell with Jillian.
These events show Laura’s growth from disinterested to completely focused on changing her life. She says Jillian’s earlier assessment was fair because she didn’t believe in herself at that time. Then she slowly started realizing she wanted to be there, she started to get it and that she loves diet and exercise. A stress fracture in her hip limited the exercise she could do in the last week, contributed to a weight gain and she was eliminated. (more…)

Tyra and her team of beauty experts and fashionistas lead the crew of five through New York City for new hair, makeup and clothes. Once they were all made over, they got to trek down the cat-walk on Tyra’s show and show off the new bodies they’ve worked so hard to achieve.
