DIET and NUTRITIONDIET and NUTRITION

One thing you'll never say with the Biggest Loser Meal Plan is "I'm bored!" The Biggest Loser eDiets chefs keep it fresh by continually updating the menu. Just like the Biggest Loser contestants, your meals will cut the fat, reduce calories, include little-to-no sugar and feature plenty of lean protein sources like turkey, fish and seafood, and chicken, as well as fruits and vegetables.

Mark Kruger of season five says "It is all incredibly tasty and well put together. I love the fact that the nutrition information is with the package and easy to read. Because of that I know exactly where my calories are with every meal."

There are few options available for vegetarians- but it can be done. They'll simply replace the meat-concentrated meals with vegetarian-friendly, although the choices are limited. There is no opportunity for customized menus; however, if you do not eat seafood, you can request those meals be replaced with a different protein.

The Biggest Loser Meal Plan by eDiets provides two flexible meal plan options – the 5-day meal plan and 7-day meal plan – that are prepared and shipped in chill-fresh coolers directly to members’ homes or offices. The wide selection of breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack options has been approved by the doctors and nutritional experts from “The Biggest Loser.” The delicious entrées span a wide variety of cuisine and will offer distinct flavors for every palette.

A glimpse of some of the meals you can look forward to enjoying include the following:

Breakfast options include:

  • Spinach Egg Breakfast Wrap
  • Homestyle pancakes with egg whites and blueberry compote
  • Hearty oatmeal with chicken apple sausage and a side of applesauce

Lunch options include:

  • Tortilla-crusted tilapia with rice, beans and Mexican roasted corn
  • Chicken and shrimp curry over rice
  • Pork sandwich with pineapple and carrot slaw

Dinner options include:

  • Deep dish polenta pizza with chicken and vegetables
  • Sweet potato stuffed chicken breast with cumin cauliflower masher, peas and pearl onions
  • Lemon butter salmon with brown rice and sauteed spinach

Snack include:

  • Biggest Loser trail mix

EXERCISEEXERCISE

While it's obvious that the Biggest Loser has a significant focus on exercise and fitness, there are no plans included with the meal delivery. This is not to say that other options aren't available. Via the Biggest Loser Club online, several book releases, trainers Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels each have DVDs and books lending fitness guidance - all options provide a wealth of information to keep you moving to supplement your diet efforts.

CONCLUSIONCONCLUSION

The Biggest Loser Meal Plan really is the best of both worlds- you'll enjoy a gourmet, doctor/chef created menu to help you lose weight all shipped from one of the leading healthy meal delivery services, eDiets, two brands that can be trusted to ensure you're eating healthy, learning better nutrition, and losing unnecessary pounds.

Each week you'll receive five or seven meals, including breakfast, lunch and dinner. You'll save time that would have been spent shopping, chopping, measuring and cooking. Instead, you can fix a healthy breakfast, take lunch with you and have dinner ready in minutes.

I've only done this for 3 weeks but i have to admit, the prepared meals are really good, very tasty and much more fresh/real tasting than Jenny Craig food. However, I canceled the snacks because except for the bars, they're pretty nasty tasting and have all sorts of fake/unnatural chemicals in them.

It would also be nice to have some guidance for what calorie intake to have depending on your height, weight, age, and gender, rather than having to guess how to supplement these meals.

Of course, it's also a little pricey so I don't know how long I'll be able to keep doing it.

My husband started this diet two weeks ago. He has lost 20 pounds!!! He is doing minimal exercise at this point, but has done a few very long walks. He likes the food, of course, some things are better than others. No complaints here!

I haven't tried it yet but plan on it. I checked out that "Fresh Diet" someone on here mentioned but . . . HOLY COW!! It would be about $1400 a MONTH for their food! I DON'T THINK SO!!!

I'm going to go with the Biggest Loser meals and I'll let ya'll know how it works! It is much more reasonably priced and does appear to be pretty healthy.

Heard about this while watching BL tonight so I wanted to check it out. For now I'm sticking with Medifast. Been on it for a year, have lost 55 pounds and have nothing negative to say. It's a great plan.

I have used BistroMD before & it doesn't compare to daily delivery. I am on a great service called The Fresh Diet. www.TheFreshDiet.com

Tried the meals and they were great! However, there is no flexibility with the delivery schedules. Allow me to explain; Meals are delivered at mid to end of the week. I travel weekly to another city and needed a healthy alternative to restaurant food. I requested meals to be delivered on Tuesdays to the city I travel to, customer service first said yes and then delivered my meals on Thursday instead. When I called about the delivery date, they said they could not guarantee Tuesday delivery unless I paid the overnight charge of $29.00 (which I was willing to do that). Great order placed on hold, because the meals were delivered on Thursday and I head back home on Fridays. Can't take the meals with me and stored them at the hotel where I normally stay. Called the following week to release the order for next week, I was told that the over night cost was not $29.99 it was $100.00. Customer Service Rep had to speak with a supervisor, who was gone at 430p when I called.
The idea of these companies is to provide healthy alternative foods and make it simple to make healthy choices. BistroMD is not there yet......
Heads up! In todays market with obesity on the rise and folks looking for quick, healthy choices it would be nice to have a company such as BistroMD that provides great meals, but delivers them as the customer needs them.
Customer Service training for the reps regarding products, pricing and delivery is desperately needed.
Such a shame, because I would have loved to continue the service, just too much uncertainty....

I love the biggest loser show, but I have no interest in the bistro md. I am a vegetarian so I have been using Nutrisystem which does have a vegetarian program. Love it!! However, I did learn about the body bugg from the show and ordered it, it's awesome! It tells you how many calories you are burning and makes you want to keep moving to burn as many calories as possible! I recommend it!

I canceled before I even tasted the food!! Fed-Ex changed my deliver date three times. The package was delivered five days after it was shipped. The dry ice was completely evaporated and half the food had begun to defrost. The package of berries leaked, dripped, and stained my clothes when I took it out of the box. The waffles were smashed and broken into pieces -- if they are meant to be heated in the toaster that is no longer a possibility. There do not appear to be 15 meals included -- I counted 14 items as I unpacked the box. I guess the "5 days" include a meal of fasting. Or was I supposed to count the little container of cream cheese as a meal? All-in-all, this is a huge disappointment, not to mention a RIP-OFF.

Melinda- do call them back! I've had the best experience with their customer service. Stay with it, it's so worth it!

Thought I'd suggest E-diets. It's cheaper, more options (since you pick your weekly menu) and you get access to their support system. I've had some technical issues with them but they've resolved them quickly and politely. Just a suggestion as I've not tried the bistromd but my wife is a bit of a picky eater and the prospect of having no options doesn't appeal to us. Good luck all.

I'm on my second week and its going good. I lost 1.4 last week with a little bit of mess ups. With all the food BLMP gives wasnt enough for my calorie count....so I guess I really didnt mess up bad and I still lost. I hav eto say the food is great. I do think that they should tell you if you should or shouldn't have coffee or latte's, stuff liek that but so far i'm happy! ! !

The food is ok for the most part. However, when I tried to make substitutions (because I couldn't eat the Thai food without gagging) I was told that I couldn't substitute unless it was due to a food allergy or religious reason. I threatened to cancel, and they wouldn't budge. So I cancelled my order because I was receiving 1-2 Thai meals with every shipment.

i am a little frustrated because i ordered my food a week ago and still do not have it. i was really looking forward to getting started but i guess i will have to keep waiting. how long does it take to get your food?

Susan - I added the cals up of the 3 daily meals and it came to 850 per day. So I added 1 glass of milk, 2 fruit and a small salad and that gets me to where I need to be at around 1,400 daily.
