SmartBurn with Hoodia is one of the many vitamin-based supplements manufactured by Iovate Health, the Canadian vita-giant that also produces the "MD" line of supplements. Smart Burn is a vitamin and herbal diet pill intended to improve and regulate mood, while suppressing appetite, to help the individual reduce caloric intake and in turn, lose weight.
Hoodia contains the active ingredient P57, and once metabolized by the body, it tells the brain that it is full. P57 is estimated to be up to 10,000 times more active than glucose in sending the message to the brain that the body is full, therefore acting as an appetite suppressant. SmartBurn can reduce cravings for up to 24 hours.
The makers of SmartBurn have utilized clinical trials with Hoodia, along with the added ingredients of Garcinia cambogia extract, chromium polynicotinate, and Gymnema sylvestre extract, to show that this blend of supplements together provided up to 450% more weight loss for those individuals when compared to a placebo group.

Iovate Health seems to have the "supplement promise" category nailed down, as evidenced by the additional products that they manufacture, including Hydroxycut, Rapid Slim and Cylaris. The inclusion of Hoodia in SmartBurn is a benefit to many, and for those whose excess belly fat is connected to cortisol release as a response to stress, it makes sense that by reducing stress via herbal supplements, one could reduce belly fat.

- Soy phospholipids to support a woman’s hormone regulatory system
There are agencies that claim to be able to certify the strength and potency of Hoodia in various formulas, but at this time, SmartBurn does not utilize these regulatory services.

This product is amazing- it did everything it said it would- u must follow the directions exactly- which is worth the results- I have no idea why it is off the market- it's been off for over a year- I bought my last 10 bottles on ebay- now I am finished- I wish I can find more-

i used to take the origional version. i lost over 15 pounds in one month. needless to say, i surpassed my goal. i've been off it fo a year and i have yet to gain back any weight. i do not exercise and i eat whatever i want!

It woked for me. I lost 45 pounds in 2 months. It reduced cravings,gave me energy and helped me maintain a good mood. I used original version one year ago.The only thing is that it melted away all of my feminine parts(2 bra sizes and all my curves) . It went very fast,before I could notice it actually.My family was asking me what happened and my friends were envious. Needless to say,it took a year to slowly gain most back bcs immediately the cravings hit me hard when I stop taking them.

+Only been using for two days and i feel very relaxed, and i have no hunger cravings at all. I've noticed that when i eat supper, i get a stumach cramp but thats because i probably ate too much. The pill really do stop your hunger , I will be using then till i reach my 10 lbs goal. good luck to everyone.

-This is awful stuff!!! I used the original SmartBurn without hoodia and it worked great. This new version... I had a constant headache, stomach pains, I've broken out in hives, my mood swings were TERRIBLE.. irritation level off the roof!!! Dangerous stuff. There is something very very wrong with this formula... Stay away!

+I've been taking it for almost a month now and at first i notice i had these pretty awful stomach pains but only for the first two days .. ive lost 10 pounds so far but ive also been on a really strict diet and exercise daily ... i probably could have lost as much without the pill but i noticed my mood is better (so i dont turn to food when im upset) and i feel healthier than i ever have before when i was dieting

+I took the pil for about 2 months and i lost quite a bit of weight. I lost about 19 pounds. The cost of $30 is the only reason that i dont use it to lose more weight. The pills made me relax instead of jettery from caffine, and the pills have a sweet taste which helped with swallowing. Its a great product. Thank you

I took these supplements in the recommended dose to slim down for a big event. It worked while I was on them (lost 8 pounds), but I seemed to have trouble metabolizing fat myself after I ceased using Smart Burn. I wonder if it's possible that the hypothalamus can be addicted to the supplement? I gained twice the amount of weight back (without changing my active lifestyle and healthy diet), and one year later, I am just starting to be able to lose the excess weight without supplement aid.

I took it and became very ill. Extreme stomach pain and nausea. Horrible head ache. I am throughing the rest of the bottle away.

I liked it because of the energy but thats about all it did for me. I can see how it may help some though. For the price its worth it just because of the boost it gives me, but I have only lost like 6 lbs and i've been taking it for about a month and a half
