The newest culinary creation from Biggest Loser is The Biggest Loser Dessert Cookbook. You'll find more than 80 sweet tooth-tempting treats created by Chef Devin Alexander, the author of several other Biggest Loser cookbooks and many of her own.
Following guidelines given by Biggest Loser to keep the desserts as wholesome as possible, Chef Devin has created a book full of all-natural ingredients that will satisfy and tempt as well as they will keep you on track. A sort of glossary at the front of the book explains the most common ingredients used in the recipes and why they were chosen. Fruit spreads, almond milk, cacao nibs, gelatin, graham crackers, stevia, whole wheat pastry flour and even edible glitter are just a few of these healthier ingredients.
The book's introduction gives a general overview of the Biggest Loser diet to help you make these treats part of an overall balanced lifestyle. You'll learn how to allocate calories, read a food label and even learn what hunger signs really mean.
If you're a fan of the show, then you'll love all of the contestant input. Plus a lot of behind-the-scenes pictures from the current season 10. Everyone from season 3 winner Erik Chopin to the most recent season 9 winner Michael Ventrella can be seen here sharing their tips for managing the lifestyle.
As for the desserts, everything from fruity and frozen to crunchy and chocolaty are waiting for you. Guilt-free macaroons, fruit kabobs, souflees and even cocktails come with simple recipes that any home chef can prepare and serve at any dinner or event without anyone questioning "diet food." Because it's not, it's just food!

Some of the following recipes are just a sneak-peek at what lies in the Biggest Loser Dessert cookbook.
There is something for everyone in this cookbook. Whether making fun holiday pretzel twists with the kids or serving up a heart-healthy sangria for girl's night, all the decadence you thought you had to avoid is more accessible than ever. The book does not promote the idea of gorging on sugary treats, but instead teaches the valuable lesson of moderation and balancing these treats in an overall healthy lifestyle.
All recipes are accompanied by nutrition information, so you'll know exactly how many calories, carbohydrates, fat, sugar, cholesterol, fiber, protein and sodium are in the rum balls or brownie bites. With that information you can work the desserts into your daily calorie counts or food journal. It's plan-ahead splurging!
The first chapter of the Biggest Loser Dessert cookbook is a dedicated 30-pages explaining the Biggest Loser diet and lifestyle. You'll learn how to count calories and recognize proper portion sizes. The book also explains how many servings of fruits, vegetables, protein, whole grains and extras (like these sweets and healthy fats) you need each day and the best food sources for each.
The Biggest Loser diet uses a balance of 25% good fats, 30% protein and 45% vegetables, fruits and whole grains. This ensures your body gets everything it needs, and a little of what it wants!
Biggest Loser is all about doing the work in order to get the reward. Which means, you can have the desserts but you can't slack off just because they're healthier than what you usually bake. While there is not a dedicated fitness plan within the Biggest Loser Dessert cookbook, you will find a lot of fitness tips and guidance from the contestants and trainers, Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels.
The book does discuss FITTE, an acronym to help you remember the important aspects of a fitness routine. Frequency, Intensity, Time, Type and Enjoyment are all explained and all equally important. You'll learn about the rate of perceived exertion and calculating your target heart rate, how to make a fitness plan and even put together a buddy system.
Chef Devin Alexander lost more than 55 pounds 16 years ago and she likes to tell people this when sharing that she has chocolate every single day. When you eat and follow a properly balanced diet, and workout regularly, you get to treat yourself. While that treat can usually undo a lot of hard work, the recipes in the Biggest Loser Dessert cookbook won't. In fact, they complement the hard work. Low in calories, fat and use of more wholesome ingredients, this is one time too good to be true is actually true!
