Mirafit is a dietary supplement that's designed to aid in weight loss. Mirafit was developed by Dr. Joseph Artiss and Dr. Catherine Jen in the course of their diabetes research.
The active ingredient in Mirafit is alpha-cyclodextrin, a dietary fiber derived from corn. Alpha-cyclodextrin works by binding to fat molecules, thus preventing them from being digested. Each pill binds about nine grams of fat, so taking the recommended daily dosage can prevent 500 calories per day from being absorbed by the body. It contains no stimulants.
Mirafit has been evaluated in a number of clinical studies on both overweight and obese participants. During these studies, few side-effects were reported. Although the FDA has not evaluated the supplement's weight-loss claims, Mirafit does have GRAS status (Generally Recognized As Safe).
Do You Know the Best Diet Pills of 2024?
- Prevents fat from being absorbed by the body
- Takes about 500 calories per day out of the food you eat
- Lowers LDL (bad) cholesterol and triglyceride levels
- Several separate double-blind studies have shown Mirafit to be effective for both overweight and obese individuals
- There have been few reported side effects
- Contains no stimulants
- Not appropriate for people on a low-fat diet
- Does not prevent the body from absorbing non-fat calories, such as carbohydrates or sugars
- Some people experience constipation during the first few days of taking this supplement
- The supplement's benefits can be overwhelmed by poor food choices
In clinical, double-blind studies, Mirafit was shown to be effective for individuals who were not involved in any kind of calorie-restricted diet. It is important to keep in mind that Mirafit only reduces calories from fat, but not calories from sugar or carbs.
There are no exercise recommendations associated with this product.
Take six pills per day, two per fat-containing meal. If you have a meal that is low in fat, do not take this pill with the meal. Instead, take the pills with your other meals. For example, if you have dry toast, coffee and fruit for breakfast, skip taking Mirafit in the morning and take three pills with lunch and three with dinner.
If you experience constipation, you should cut the dosage down to one pill per meal and drink plenty of water until the problem goes away.
Always follow label instructions.
- Alpha-dextrin (derived from corn)
- Croscarmelose Sodium
- Stearic Acid
- Magnesium Stearate
- Sillicon Dioxide
Compared to many of the other weight-loss supplements on the market, Mirafit is an effective option with few known side-effects. In addition to weight loss, it may have other health benefits, such as lowering cholesterol. Because Mirafit does not enter the blood stream, it is unlikely to have any interactions with medications. However, if you are taking any prescriptions that effect the stomach or digest tract, you should consult your doctor before taking Mirafit.
However, taking Mirafit is not a guarantee of weight loss. Using Mirafit to cut 500 fat calories out of your diet will not lead to weight loss if you use the supplement as an excuse to eat more calories. All weight loss supplements work best when combined with a healthy diet and physical activity.

+I've been taking this on and off for the last several years. It has worked very well for me when I've taken it with high fat meals. I took it on vacation with me and did not gain any weight on my trip - usually I'll gain 2-5 lbs on a trip.
