BACKGROUNDBACKGROUND Start the Diet Now Advertisement

The NIM Diet, or Nutrition in Motion, is a meal delivery program that serves the Montreal and Ontario areas and helps you lose up to 10 pounds in 2 weeks.

After completing a brief health assessment, you receive a customized meal plan that is based upon your weight loss goals, activity level and food preferences.

The three NIM diets are NIM Weight for adult weight loss, NIM Veggie for vegetarians who want to lose weight and NIM Kids for children between the ages of 8 and 16 who want to lose weight.

Each week you'll receive four fresh batches of food that will last two days. Meals come between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. They are not frozen or shelf-stable meals like many other meal delivery programs.

The NIM Diet also encourages exercise in order to increase the effectiveness of your weight loss plan. Prices are based on a per-day cost, vary by program and include the cost of food, delivery and fitness training.

DIET and NUTRITIONDIET and NUTRITION

The three NIM diets focus on helping you lose weight over the course of two phases. For each of their diet programs you will eat three meals and three snacks each day.

The NIM diet programs are divided into two phases. Phase One is the stricter phase that eliminates bad carbs and processed foods, no sugar, candy, pasta or bread; and Phase Two reintroduces certain healthy carbs into your diet like whole grains, rice and potatoes, providing you with a greater variety of meals.

There are more than 100 entrees, sides and snacks that you can choose from as you create your own menu.

A sample Phase 1 menu may include a zucchini frittata for breakfast, vanilla yogurt for a snack, spinach, feta and walnut salad for lunch, caramelized almonds for an afternoon snack and turkey cutlets with roasted vegetables and mousse for dinner and dessert.

EXERCISEEXERCISE

NIM has partnered with Affinity Fitness to offer you a customized, expert personal training and fitness program. You'll meet with a personal trainer, undergo a physical assessment and a personalized training program is created for you. You work together with your trainer to put this plan into action and meet regularly with him or her to monitor your progress.

CONCLUSIONCONCLUSION

The NIM Diet is a meal-delivery program that helps you lose weight by preparing portion-controlled and low-calorie meals that are delivered to your home fresh each day. While this program may help you lose weight and is exceptionally convenient, it does not teach you how to prepare and eat your own healthy meals. Also, this program is currently only offered in the Ontario and Montreal areas.

Since the NIM Diet is so customized and includes a fitness element, it is an effective way to help you reach your weight loss goals, but it does come with some drawbacks. If you are serious about this program, you should also take the time to educate yourself on healthy cooking, smart food choices, and portion control so that when you complete the NIM Diet, you have the necessary tools to maintain your weight loss.

I'm on day 8 of a 30 day plan and I can't say I love this diet at all. The food tastes too salty and like Susanna, I barely lost any weight since I started. The next 22 days are going to be a pain since I wish to quit right now if they didn't have a strict no-refunds policy.

So far so GREAT! The food is amazing, and super fresh. I try to make sure I eat the meals and snacks every three hours, and so far haven't been hungry in between. It takes the guess work out of eating well because everything is prepared for you. The weight is steadily coming off. Highly recommend it.
I've tried Jenny before, but got really sick of the food fast, plus it isn't fresh and included too many white carbs.
NIM is the way to go.

The food tastes really great, it's hassle-free and I'm steadily losing weight. It looks expensive but not when you start adding up the Starbucks coffees, groceries and restaurant lunches you don't buy anymore.

Loved the NIM program! I went on a 6 week program and lost 10 pounds which is a very healthy weight loss (I was 135 when I started). I've been on the personal gourmet and I have to say that it was totally unhealthy and they serve things like white pasta! I don't even eat that on my own why would I ever pay for that!? So I totally disagree with Regan.
NIM is fantastic and I plan on using them again in the very near future.

I have to disagree and say that Nutrition and Motion was amazing. The food was fresh, natural and most importantly I reached my goal weight for my wedding.

I've tried many diets and this does not compare. Not only is the food delicious but the price is the most competitive. Personal Gourmet only offers 3 meals and 2 snacks at 37.97 on the 7 day plan. Nutrition and Motion offers 3 meals 2 snacks and 1 dessert on the 10day plan. So in fact you get 3 extra days and its cheaper. Aside from the cost, the quality of the food is next to the best.

You should check out PersonalGourmet for a great food delivery service in Toronto. All the recipes are made from rose Reismans tried and true recipes. The food is delish.

This service is simple and affordable. I opted for the 2 meal per day plan as I do a protein shake for breakfast every day and did not need breakfast delivered. The meals are delicious and there is a wide variety to pick from.

I was on the Nutrition In Motion diet for over a year, in Toronto, Canada. It was AMAZING. The food was excellent and I lost about 20 pounds in 4 months and then maintained it while on the program. It was very professional. You always received all the nutritional info ever day and there was NEVER any problems with delivery. Each day included 3 meals, 2 snacks and a dessert. I have since moved to the U.S. and have yet to find a program online that can even compare! I really miss it. Colleen McDermott
