The French seem to have it figured out. The French Don't Diet Plan, written by Dr. William Clower, introduces 10 easy steps for shaping up and maintaining a thin figure for life, based on the lifestyles of the French.
The French Don't Diet has two phases:
Phase 1 involves rapid weight loss. You will not change the amount of food you eat, however you will have more balanced meals. You are not permitted high-glycemic foods.
Phase 2 controls weight. You're able to eat a broader variety of foods, including high-glycemic.
You'll eat fresher foods, eliminate processed foods, have smaller portions and make meal times last longer so that you're not rushing through. Relaxing more and having a general joy for life are important.

The difference is that the French lead much more active lifestyles than we do. Focus on moving more and introducing more active pursuits each day.
The French Don't Diet Plan is one of many popular French-based weight loss programs available. This book features 10 easy ways to make healthy changes for a lifetime - without giving up delicious, flavorful foods. The French are generally revered for their healthy waistlines and are often referred to for weight loss guidance. Their lifestyles differ greatly from Americans, but those who've used their lifestyle as a model are enjoying the benefits.

There are not 2 phases to this diet. It does say to increase your activity weekly but purposeful exercise like walking to the store, etc. Overall, this approach which includes meditiation, deep breathing, relaxing and active lifestyle is a fantastic lifestyle to adopt to lose weight.

-I do not smoke and will not smoke, ever. I hate there plan, because I don't drink either. They can kiss my foot, for even thinking like that. I will do one thing to lose weight and one thing only, I will exercise and get healthier foods.
