First, let me say how impressed I am that you are 87 and use a computer! You are a reminder to me to never stop learning.

Althought I just began eating gluten-free, I unfortunately find too many high calorie items to keep my weight ON. I emphathize with you, as my mom is in the same boat.

If you can eat dairy, greek yogurt is a very healthy probiotic. Fage is 300 calories in 8 ozs. Cheese is also calorie dense (no blue!), nuts, not as healthy is ice cream (more expensive brands have higher calories - my mom HAD to eat a bowl a day to gain), Tostitos - only plain, black and garbanzo beans are all some good ideas. Unfortunately, these are also all very filling. Please let me know if this helps.
