Ideal Protein foods have very little sodium at all. One of the requirements when on IP is to consume at least 72 oz of water a day. As a result of this, you are required to use 1/4 tsp of IP salt with your meals, in order to maintain a healthy electrolyte balance.

Low sodium is not exactly true. Some soups have well over 500 milligrams and other products 200 -300. I am sodium sensitive and do not use the added salt.

Please note that the IP salt also contains SUGAR. Yep, says so right on the labeling.
