Peanuts are a common food sensitivity that may cause an inflammatory reaction in your digestive system which could be the cause of digestive issues and bloat. By eliminting them for a while then reintroducing them, you can find out if they are a trigger food for you and then it's up to you to decide if you wish to keep eating them.

I am not 100 percent sure but I found this on nutrician diva quick and dirty tips and that there is a less chance in the USA to come in contact with this because of food regualtions but could be why. Peanuts are susceptible to infection from a certain fungus that produces a toxic compound called aflatoxin. Aflatoxin is a naturally occurring compound, not a man-made chemical. Nonetheless, it is a known carcinogen that is many times more toxic than DDT.
