7 Weight Loss Plans Fit for Fall

  • DIR Approval Rating: 57%
  • US News Best Commercial Diet Plans: #4

Another tried-and-true veteran of the weight loss industry, Nutrisystem has been helping men and women lose weight via delivered meals for 40 years. The program follows a fairly standard meal delivery diet platform whereby customers receive a monthly shipment of pre-packaged, shelf-stable foods that they'll eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and a snack. Earlier this year a line of fresh-frozen meals, via Nutrisystem Select, was added to the brand's product offering. Either way, these heat-and-eat meals will be supplemented with your own fresh produce.

A broad variety of plans are available to meet nearly any dietary need, be it younger adults, seniors, diabetics, or vegetarian. Users eat a low-calorie diet, 1200 to 1500 calories per day, depending on gender. This diet can be followed in conjunction with a fitness regimen, but it is not a requirement. Nutrisystem-branded workout DVDs are available. Without a concrete fitness plan to follow, users are free to make the choice for defining their own exercise routine.

I tried this system, about 90% of the boxed food was terrible, I couldn't eat it. The frozen food was somewhat better, however, you can only order a few of those. The bars, snacks and some of the cereals were okay. I went into a store called big lots, were they sell discontinued items and they had one entire row of nutrisystem food on the shelf. That tells me something is wrong, the food needs improvement, looks nothing like advertised on TV or their web site.
