College Professor, Michael Dorsey grew up and lives in Baltimore, Maryland. At age 34 he weighs 444 pounds and is this season's heaviest contestant. His weight struggle began in college because of his poor diet and lack of exercise. Michael finished his undergraduate career Cedarville University, then went on to obtain a Master of Divinity from Faith Evangelical Seminary, and is almost finished with his doctorate from Faith Seminary.

Michael's weight has caused him to have sleep apnea and high cholesterol. He realized that something must be done with his weight if he wants to live longer to see his infant son grow up. Michael has seen previous contestants overcome their weight struggle and is inspired by their transformation.

Once he finishes his weight loss journey, he looks forward to coaching his son in sports, riding roller coasters, shopping at regular stores, and returning to competitive wrestling.
