Calories Burned in Olympic Sports

In 2008, swimming was the pinnacle event of the summer Olympics. Michael Phelps had Americans at the edge of their seats during swim relays. He put all his energy in the few seconds he had to swim down one edge of the pool to the other. Swimming is a great workout. It burns lot of energy and doesn't seem like a real workout. An average person swimming for 30 minutes can burn 207 calories.
