In order to call a food item “fat free” it needs to have less than 0.5 grams of fat per labeled serving. Here’s the skinny on fat. We all need it. The problem is a little bit of fat goes a long way and there are so many important healthy foods that deliver fat that it leaves little wiggle room for the “bad stuff." Most of your fats should be from healthy olive oil, nuts, salmon, and avocado – none of which come in much packaging.
