Wife-and-husband team Shauna James Ahern and Daniel Ahern are the gluten-free girl and chef of the book's title. The book contains over 100 recipes created by Chef Daniel, who used to work at the executive chef at Impromptu Wine Bar Cafe in Seattle, Washington. More than recipes, the Gluten-Free Girl and the Chef contains the story of Shauna and Daniel's relationship. The recipes are easy to make and delicious, including dishes like brownies, Jamaican jerk chicken, French toast, fried proschiutto and seared shrimp with garlic-almond sauce.
