This diet hit it big with people making New Year's resolutions to lose weight in 2011 after it was featured on Dr. Oz and The Dr. Phil Show. The 17 Day Diet was created by Dr. Mike Moreno around the principle of 17-day food cycles. Moreno says this method will accelerate the rate at which you lose weight. There are four cycles in total, the first of which is low-carb and high in protein. As the cycles progress, you will add more healthy carbs back into your diet. Overall, the diet encourages people to steer clear of processed foods, fried foods and refined sugars.
