Have you ever considered breaking out your roller skates and joining a roller derby? Don’t let the funny names like Abby Normal or Barbwire Barbie fool you, these ladies are working their tails off in the rink. Roller derby provides a full body workout, since all the major muscles get used to power around a derby match or training session. Just roller skating for an hour will burn about 300-500 calories. Throw in body checks, speed intervals, and bracing for a possible blow and roller derby burns many more calories than just skating alone.
