Meryl Davis

Olympic Athlete Spotlight

Growing up, Meryl lived on a lake and needed a way to pass the time during the winter. So she laced up her first pair of skates when she was just five-years old. She and her ice dancing partner, Charlie White, both live in Michigan where they train and attend the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. How is that for busy? As a trained athlete, nutrition is of paramount importance to helping Meryl, look, perform and feel her best. She loves eating healthy, particularly, fruit, fish and tons of healthy carbs for energy. But she does confess to have a hereditary chocolate addiction that she confesses, runs in her family. Did you know Meryl Davis' favorite training foods are peanut butter and chicken Caesar salads, not together though. Peanut butter provides her with a healthy fat and some protein for sustained energy as she trains for hours on the ice, chicken Caesar salads deliver a veggie and protein punch that not only satiates her appetite but allows her to look great in those figure skating outfits.
