Have you ever heard of a pop star called Beyoncé?
…just kidding. She is arguably the biggest pop and/or hip-hop star in the world who also happens to be married to one of the biggest and most respected rap artists / moguls in the world. “Power couple” does not even begin to describe these two.
In the past few months, the married parents of one announced that they would be going on tour together beginning this June 25. Beyoncé’s worldwide tour, “The Mrs. Carter Show,” just ended its run this past March, but if anyone can do two major tours in a year, it is Queen B. Since she is busy being a mom on top of everything else, one has to wonder how she has time to keep her ridiculously fit body in the shape it is currently in.
She has a few tips. Here we learn how to stay in shape while touring, mothering, wifing, and living — Beyoncé style.
Beyoncé told Self Magazine that she is very aware that she cannot eat whatever she wants and she cannot skip the gym. “It’s more about your mental strength than physical strength. You have to push yourself,” she said. “It doesn’t matter what trainer you have. And it doesn’t matter what program you’re on. You have to be healthy and make the right choices.”
2. Work all your muscles.
One of Beyoncé’s trainers, Marco Borges, has spoken about his Power Moves philosophy, which helps work all of the muscles simultaneously.
Beyoncé also focuses on interval training, alternating sprints and running on a treadmill which burns more calories in a condensed period of time. (Good for busy bees… and beys alike.)
3. Just dance!
Obviously, Beyoncé has been on a stage half of her life, and we all know dancing is one of the most fun ways to stay in shape. Her choreography practices may be one of her most consistent, calorie-burning workouts. However, with out all the other workouts, she wouldn’t have the strength to power through.
4. Mix up your diet.
At the end of last year, Jay Z and Beyoncé went on a 22-day vegan diet together. First of all, how romantic! Secondly, Borges, the aforementioned personal trainer who also works with Jay Z, recommended the couple try out a vegan diet to regain energy and feel overall good about themselves. Give it a try! It’s a healthy way to reset while exploring new foods; just don’t forget the protein!
5. Work out together.
I love couples who work out together, and Beyoncé and Jay Z are no exception. Though these two happen to be particularly busy, Borges has claimed that the two hit the gym with each other whenever they can make it work. Since they are about to tour together, I am sure their schedules allow for eating together, working out together, and of course, performing.
So that’s how she does it. The “On the Run” tour starts June 25th.
