Mini Bio
Irene Alvarado is finishing her degree at Portland State University. Raised by a single mother, Ana Alvarado, Irene has struggled with being overweight for most of her life. The past year and a half have been particularly difficult, because she put on an additional 90 pounds, which triggered other health issues. This recent weight gain has lead her to feel sick more often and exacerbated her asthma. Irene says her boyfriend and mom, who is also a contestant this season, were a huge support as she auditioned for The Biggest Loser.
