Super Bowl Champ Romanowski’s Nutrition 53

Bill Romanowski is a 4-time Super Bowl champion who spent years on the field and in the training rooms working out and eating right so that he could compete against and triumph over some of football’s most elite and strong athletes. As a linebacker who played an unprecedented 243 consecutive games, he knows a thing or two about nutrition. So he teamed up with a few of his favorite scientists, researchers and nutritionists and developed his own company and line of dietary supplements called Nutrition 53.

Nutrition 53 contains a small, but quality, line of three different health products. There is the Lean1, which is designed to help you create lean muscle mass and control your hunger, Neuro1, a supplement that improves mental acuity and focus and Sleep1, a product that helps you get to sleep fast and stay asleep so you wake up feeling refreshed. Each of his products come in a powdered form that are mixed with water to create a shake. Lean1, for instance, comes in a variety of different flavors like banana cream, chocolate, vanilla, cookies and cream, vanilla raspberry. It is rumored to be used by Britney Spears to revamp her new body.

Lean1 is used as a meal replacement and packs a whopping 30 grams of protein, fruit and veggie extracts, omega-3 fatty acids, and appetite-suppressing herbs in one scoop.

I haven’t tried this product as I’m usually suspect of anything that promises you the moon and stars in a bottle, but Lean1 seems to offer pretty solid nutrition in a concentrated form and it doesn’t guarantee that you’ll have a body like Jennifer Aniston or like Bill Romanowski after using it. Just to be on the safe side, talk to your doc before taking any of the Nutrition 53 products.

Not to be a wet blanket, but Bill was on some serious drugs when he was in the NFL.

That doesn’t say anything about the quality of his supplement line, but when it comes to marketing the product, his use of GH and steroids is most definitely relevant.

Dear DR

You are right. I happen to watch Bill a few months back on 60 Minutes. He was discussing his experience with steriods and the tumultuous effects they had on his life. Let’s hope that his products aren’t as tainted as his time was with the NFL. As a caution for any supplement, particularly Nutrition 53, I advise anyone to talk with their doctor before testing out or even purchasing any of these products.

Thanks so much for your pertinent comments.

Let’s give Bill Romanowski’s supplement line time to prove itself. I feel that after about a year, if it hasn’t taken off, then perhaps then we can honestly feel that it was too good to be true. As a 56 yr. old former athlete who is trying to stay in the best shape possible, I will give new supplements a try. But with this line, I would prefer to watch its progress or regress since I have been burnt several times by companies that promised the world but did not deliver. Hey, it’s tough econmically, but if a product produces results, then it is money worth spent. Besides, Bill Romanowski was one heck of a linebacker, and his hits were real. Now all this stuff about steroid use is old…lets move on. He admitted his mistake and is “manning up”. (What about ripping apart that profession that has to have steroids as a means of being competitive on stage…oops, did I say that?) Here’s to all of us trying to keep in shape the honest way but with sound advice and heartfelt guidance from those who actually delivered.
