Akavar 20/50 is a European weight loss pill that has achieved much success. It has made its move to the U.S. seeking the same. Akavar boasts that it is the ultimate fat cure and that you'll see the results you seek without any diet restrictions or inclusion of exercise.
Akavar is designed to restrict your daily caloric intake to less than normal. Without those calories that your body requires for energy, you'll start to use your fat reserves. This will of course cause you to lose weight and inches. However, you'll immediately gain back that weight should you stop using Akavar. The website offers little-to-know information about the product leaving open many questions about the supplement.
Promotes eating all you like and still seeing weight loss
Reduces urge to overeat
Do not have to count calories
Won't feel hungry
CON
Akavar 20/50 leaves a lot to be desired. Some of the more concerning details include:
Promotes a lifestyle without exercise and healthy diet
No FDA approval
Web site offers very little information
No published clinical research
Does not publish ingredients
Contains caffeine
INGREDIENTS
It takes a lot of research to find what is inside those little Akavar tablets, as the product's website bypasses any discussion. Akavar includes many caffeine sources including xanthine and green tea leaf. Other ingredients include yerba mate, guarana seed, ginger root, kola nut, Tibetan ginseng, cocoa nut, rice flour, yellow no. 6, red no. 3 and Gelatin, among many others.
CONCLUSION
Akavar 20/50 leaves a lot of open questions- which really leads to concerns about both the product's effectiveness and impact on the body. With so many diet pills and supplements on the market, it is important for manufacturers to paint a detailed picture of the product to help consumers make the most educated decisions. Many diet pills and supplements provide all of the information that Akavar seems to have conveniently left out. It is also a little misleading that without diet and exercise you can still lose weight. Anyone who has ever committed to losing weight knows that without important changes to diet and exercise, results are often not achieved.
Terrie Lakewood...how can you write all of that info after only taking it for 2 days. Of course you wouldnt have sleep problems that quick and I guess you started your period the day you took your first pill?
I am starting my pills tomorrow and I will post truthful statements as I go but people...please stop trying so hard to sell this pill after taking it 2 days.

I have gone through one bottle of Akavar, and definitely plan to buy it again. I have lost a noticeable amount of weight, and feel completely energetic after I take a pill (especially first thing in the morning!). I only take one pill at a time since 2 make me jittery and lightheaded, but it says you can take up to 4 daily, so I just take 3-4 spaced out during the day, depending on how many times I eat. I definitely eat whatever I want......but when I'm taking the pills I really hardly want anything. If I take it when I wake up, I don't feel hungry at all until maybe lunch time, and then I'm full after a few bites. I also don't crave snacks in the evening like I do normally. I generally eat very healthily, but still have a difficult time keeping my weight down. Akavar keeps me from overeating (even if food is good for you, you can still consume too much) without feeling like I'm having to stop myself....I just don't feel like having any more. I think the reason it may not work for some people is that they may be unfairly "testing" the product by consuming everything in sight. Obviously, it is impossible to lose weight that way, no matter what you are taking. Additionally, no product can work for everyone, as every body is different.

i just started akavar 2 days ago. i'm happy to say there is NO heartburn,NO jitters, no ill affects so far. i am 43 yrs. old it has helped me to stop snacking after my "normal" meal, i feel full.. all night. i have energy but not like i am "on something". i used to want to nap after dinner. now i have the energy to walk or excercise. before i would eat and want to lay down and watch t.v. i have controlled my appetite AND have gotten a boost of energy to actually"DO SOMETHING". i like this so far. i don't feel like such a lazy person anymore. i eat normal..get full..and i don't eat again like i used to. this has not affected my sleep, so far i am happy. i already feel better.and i do drink alot of diet pop. i don't eat alot of fatty/fast foods. just normal. my moods are even better even on my menstrual cycle. i am liking this!! will keep u updated on any weight loss. i know this works for me as i am back into some excercise because this not only gave me the energy but because i am not "stuffing" myself and overeating. i WANT to move around more. remember it's not a license to eat whatever but be responsible and to take the "cue" to eat better and maybe take the stairs when possible. it's alot better than risking "anal leakage". terrie

Ok people lets think about this...... Eat all you want and still lose the weight..... that means eat normal food.... you can't sit and eat candy, cookies and fatty foods and lose weight. Come on now this is for people on the go that really don't have time for a lot of working out. So for all of you that want to sit and eat all the time good luck, maybe while you are sitting and eating you can write a book on how to gain weight and blame it on a pill.lol. This stuff is great i feel lots of energy and I am a mom of 2 with a full time job. I have been on it for about 2 weeks and lost 10 lbs. !!!!!!

I must say i have been working out and eating better and It did not do anything for me. I am a hardcore coffee drinker so maybe i am just immune to the caffiene that is supposed to make it work. I did get the blurry vision and other side effects but not one pound of weightloss. Maybe i have just plateau'd. I wish you all the best of luck but i must say it did not work for me. Hydroxycut so far is the best stuff that works over the counter but it is one of those that you do not see immediate results, you have to be strong and continue taking it and then BAM! it's like over night you just start dropping weight like crazy... Best of luck to all of you and don't give up...

first of all, as with any highly caffeinated diet pill, you are gonna get weightloss results fast with formadable diet and excercise. yes, over-eating with any diet pill will make it obsolete. I know this, because i've use over 10 different brands in the past. I just started using AKAVAR about 2 weeks ago, just irregularly. I have only lost 2 lbs. but on the plus side i lost 1 1/2 inches on my waistline. GOOD STUFF! Now...for all you sceptics...why dont you stop being greedy and purposely eating stupid fattening stuff just to test your belly strength. Go for a walk or two everyday, or hit the gym. Combine these strategies with this pill and then look for positive results. Be smart. Im military, I work out constantly with very few results because my metabolism is so darn slow. With AKAVAR, I feel the energy...a little nervousness...but lots of energy and appetite suppression. Remember, everyone's body and health is at a different level, so beware of everything you put in your body and watch the quantity as well, don't try to overdue it ok.

OK, well. First thing first - side effects. I have had to go to the bathroom within an hour of eating after this pill, so that makes leaving the house kinda uncomfortable. I do get a lot of energy, and that's really unusual for me since I stay up late waiting for my husband to call. I do get the blurry vision, and some times dizzy - only when I take two before meals. Now, I haven't noticed a loss on scales - but I am also building muscle mass since I work out at night - every night. I went into this knowing that I wouldn't be able to eat a lot of sweets and unhealthy crap - those who do need to wake up a little.
Now, for those interested -
one in the morning, drink a slimfast after. One in the afternoon, eat a sensible lunch. One at night - eat dinner, but make sure its at least 4 hours before bed. I walk for 30 mins at night with kids - promote healthy to them at the same time, and then do my 2 min rounds. (2 mins of sit ups straight, 2 mins of push ups straight, 2 mins of flutter kicks straight 2 mins of lunges straight - you get the idea.) My pants are a hell of alot looser then what they were, so I think that there is an improvement, and with me doing the exersize like I've been doing it burns off the extra energy from the pills.I will check back in once a week with updates. Currently 5/21/08 weighing in at 230.

I've never been one to promote a diet pill, but Akavar works! I've been using it for 2 weeks and have dropped 11 lbs. (I'm a female so this is a BIG deal for me!). However, I have been exercising everyday and limiting my caloric intake. Akavar is really helping to speed up the loss. Instead of 1.5 lbs. in a week, I lost 5. What I don't like is that it makes me airheaded and gives me blurry vision. Who wants that? Oh well, I guess I'll take skinny blind airhead temporarily until I get 10 more lbs. off.

I've been taking Akavar for one week. When I started I weighed 128 at night and 126 in the am. I weighed in this morning at 122. First time I've seen this number in a very long time. I figure by tonight I'll weigh 124 so I've lost 4 lbs total. I'm only taking half the dose or 2 pills a day. One in the morning and one at 2pm. If I take it too late in the day it will keep me up at night. I find I have more energy. I'm eating whatever I want and not exercising at this time although I plan on lifting weights soon to tone a little. I am finding I just don't desire to eat as much. Food loses interest for me faster. When I started at the beginning of the week I could easily eat two frozen burittos, now I lose interest after 1 1/2. I have cut out all other sources of caffeine while I'm using Akavar as I have been sensitive to caffeine in the past. I only need to lose five more pounds. I'm not sure how to maintain and not lose though once I reach my goal weight. Maybe I'll only take once a day? Or, every other day? Not sure. Any ideas from those who are using it successfully?
