Beyonce Knowles of Dreamgirls fame, has gone public to share how she gets in shape for her movie roles and appearances. She uses what is known as the Master Cleanse, or the Maple Syrup Diet. Beyonce's diet is a cleanse, meant to detoxify the body of all previous food intake, and help the person drop water weight, which can add unwanted pounds on film.

The program is a simple mixture of Grade B Maple syrup, fresh squeezed lemon juice, spring water and cayenne pepper that a person drinks for no more than 10 days. Pioneered by Stanley Burroughs in the 1950s, its practitioners and participants claim that not only do they lose weight, but they see better, smell better, hear better and feel better, while also ridding their bodies of ailments that have afflicted them for years.

Goodbye Fat Me!


I am planning on starting this next week (after I get my paycheck so I can buy all the ingredients). I'm eager to start because I want to use it as a kick-start to my real diet. I want to start eating healthier and lose weight, and my best friend did it and lost 23 pounds in ten days. I was extremely interested. She kept up with moderate exersise after the cleanse was over and ate healthy - few carbs, lots of veggies, no soda's, and tons of water. She's healthier and happier, and tons thinner! Also, her acne cleared up and her hair looked shinier. So eager to start!

I have some, use it every week along with fiber and a lemonade product caalled no explode that gives you more energy. Together it all makes me feel like I could move a mountain, leap a tall building or something. I feel sorry for people not on this stuff. Plus it gets the dead wood out of you, if you get my drift. I use it on mondays, to feel good for the week, but I'm going to use it more since I read it suppossed to be used for 10 days straight. Weight loss, no, but I eat. But I do feel amazing on it. U will too.

Can you use Raw Honey instead as raw honey has all the vitamins one needs because its right from the hive, unpasturized, im assuming healthier then Maple Syrup

I tried starting it today. I bought ALL the materials to have 10 days worth, and I failed. I added WAY too much cayenne pepper and the drink was absolutely awful. I imagine it not being as bad when its not burning your throat. I will try again another day. But just not eating till 6 and not drinking the lemonade (due to the spiciness) resorting in me breaking down and purchasing a slice of pizza. Well I hope I can really get into this tomorrow! I would have hated to waste all that money for organic supplies. Please someone tell me that it gets easier?

I tried the Stanely Burroughs diet in the beginning of last summer. The first two days I was okay but the third day I had headaches, hunger pains, and dizziness after the 5th day I stopped. For a total of 5 days on the master clense I had 3 strawberries and 4 grapes and I lost 14lbs in 5 days loosing 3lbs of just water weight on day 1. It sounds like a winner to me it's just extremely hard but well worth it.

I just started the diet today I am very excited about it. But just like any other diet if you don't do what is needed to keep the weight off of course you will gain it back. I look at it this way its a great jump start a diet. Then just change the way you are eating and exercise more. I will report my results in 9 more days wish me luck:)

So far, I like it. I am just finishing my 3rd day and my face is already starting to clear up. Haven't weighed myself yet and don't plan on doing it until the 10th day...Had a really bad migraine yesterday, but I got over it....
