Do You Know the Best Diets of 2024?
Fitness Guru and NBC’s Biggest Loser trainer, Jillian Michaels, has a repertoire of exercise DVDs, books and vitamins to help you get in shape and stay fit. Her latest DVD, Jillian Michaels: 30-Day Shred, includes three separate workouts designed to give your body the strength, form and power it dreams of having. The DVD, when done according to Michaels’ plan, is supposed to help you lose up to 20 pounds in 30 days. Jillian makes clear that this is not for substantial weight loss- but to help those looking to ditch those last 10-20 pounds through high-intensity exercise.
- Exercise is a key component to losing weight and maintaining weight loss
- Jillian Michaels is a well-known and well-respected authority on fitness for safe and effective weight loss
- Following Jillian Michaels: 30-Day Shred is much less expensive than paying for a gym membership
- A healthy way to lose those final pounds
- Jillian Michaels: 30-Day Shred promise to lose “up to 20 pounds” is no guarantee
- Exercise must also be followed in conjunction with a low-calorie eating plan in order to lose weight successfully
Jillian Michaels: 30-Day Shred does not include any specific dietary information. Even though diet is a key component to any weight-loss plan it is therefore strongly recommended to combine this DVD with one of Michaels’ eating plans or another effective dieting program that seeks to establish long-term healthy eating behaviors.
You can use 30-Day Shred along with Jillian's online weight loss program, which provides detailed guidance for nutritious eating. Joining the Jillian Michaels program online provides members with information to identify the right foods for your body type, custom calorie plan and more than 100 recipes that are both healthy and delicious.
Jillian Michaels: 30-Day Shred includes three 20-minute workouts that get progressively more challenging as you go through them. Each workout begins with a brief warm-up session and concludes with brief cool-down session. Each of the three workouts is created with Michaels’ signature 3-2-1 Strength/Cardio/Ab training circuit in which three minutes of strength work, 2 minutes of cardiovascular work and 1 minute of abdominal work is performed.
It is no question that Jillian Michaels knows what she is talking about when it comes to fitness given her tough workouts, her unflinching motivation and her expert knowledge of physical fitness. If you've been craving those intense Biggest Loser workouts, now is your chance to do it. Her DVD, Jillian Michaels: 30-Day Shred, combines all of Michaels’ trademark qualities including her exclusive signature 3-2-1 Strength/Cardio/Ab training circuit.
Although the DVD promises to help you lose up to 20 pounds in 30 days, there is no guarantee that this amount of weight loss will occur. By performing the workouts on most days of the week, you will increase your cardiovascular stamina, strength and flexibility. In order to lose weight, a sound diet plan should also be followed in conjunction to the performing the workouts in 30-Day Shred.
In just thirty minutes, Michaels packs in a powerful workout that combines the core components of any successful exercise routine.

+I'm on my 4th workout at level one. Injured left foot in an aircast.I'm doing mostly srms. My arms feel like noodles. And like they weigh a 50 lbs during the workout! I notice toning happening already. No weight loss yet. I'm on a vegetarian weight loss regimen.

you suggested a weight of 82-103lbs for a 5foot 7 woman! that is insanely unhealthy.do you know where this would get me sick in bed.I was very upset with this unobtainable weight.I thought the point of exercising and eating right was to be hwelthy.

+I never exercised before in my life, but now i do level one every day. I will move up to level two when I am ready; right now, i think it's too early. After two weeks, I feel stronger than I ever have in my life.
posted Jul 30th, 2009 8:19 amAfter two kids, I let myself really get fat. I'm hoping it's not too late to turn it around.
Favorite quotes from DVD:
"You're strong!"
"This is easy for you!"
It comes at the end of the workout, and I always yell back (through a pool of sweat and a red face)
"I'm strong"
"This is easy for me"
I'm just about ready to barf, but it seems yelling these things back at JM makes me feel good.
Last thing (I'm verbose):
I've noticed changes in my mood after just two weeks. It's true right that exercise improves your mood?

+I did only 7 minutes of it last night and I feel like someone stomped on my legs all night. During the exercise, I didn't think it was that bad...but try walking around in heels at work lol I loved it and even though I walk everyday, I think that this will work better for me.

Jillian is mean, but that motivates you to "show her" and try harder. I saw a difference in my arms after using this DVD. Level 1 killed me at first, now it's easy. I'm on level 2 now and it gets easier each day. Jillian is awesome!

+I LOVE this DVD!!! It totally kicked my butt! Haha, I have about 20 pounds to lose, and this is my seconed day of doing it on level one. I used to run like 3 miles a day and do about 125 sit ups and 4 planks, and oh my gosh, doing this 20 minute workout makes me feel like i did when i use to do those things at the gym. Its nuts! I am so sore in places i didnt know i could be sore in. I love jillian michaels. shes the motivation i need to get myself to shred the last 20 pounds.

+First off to "KAILA" Yes you do need weights but at first dont go get heavy weights, your going to need to work into it or you'll kill yourself.

Im on day 4 and i gotta tell you i noticed a microscopic change in the image of my body getting smaller but my endurance is quickly taking off. Before this DVD I would do jumping jacks low to the ground and quickly to get them over with and could barley last 30 seconds. Now i jump a lot higher (almost feels like im flying) a lot longer at a steady pace and it doesnt bother me to do it! I can't wait to see what I'll look and feel like at the end of this month!!

+I have used MANY home workout videos and had gym memberships and this tape is by far one of the best! It is quick, but effective and I am just getting into week 3 and I have abs!

I love the 30 day shred. it is quick multileveled and does get results. I will mention you will be cursing Jillian out more then once duing the exercising, but she is motivating. I also like that you can turn off the the voice after you have done it a few times and don't really need the feedback

I have been doing this workout for a little over a month. I am not doing the diet; however, I have lost a total of 6 inches total off of my body. I have gained weight, but because of the way I feel, it must be muscle weight. This is all in doing only level one. I just started level two this week and it is a killer. My friend and I are pushing each other to make it through this month so that we can try level three. We are both seeing results and I recomend this whole heartly if you want someone to kick your into shape. Jillian will do it!

+I'm on day 4 of level one and I am 100% committed. The results were immediate for myself. My quads and shoulders, (that I didn't even know existed), until after day one improved overnight. Each day I feel bulges in all the right places instead of where I didn't want them. So far, lovin it.

+Best workout DVD ever! Have been gym member for many years and had intense classes, but this DVD kicks butt!
posted Mar 17th, 2009 6:33 am20mins of pure workout! I love it, I'm on Level 3 now and I did Level 1 tonight as I was feeling a bit lazy - the difference between these levels is quite big - I feel so much more fit going back to Level 1 - who would've thought!!!

+I'm on my second week of the DVD. Just started level 2 yesterday and am astonished! What could be better than a 20 minute work out that seriously kicks your *!!?! Its great. For several months i've tried many at home workouts... couldn't stay tuned in. The first time i tried this DVD i knew it was great. Works all parts of your body, in ways i never knew possible. With a 2 year old, its hard to find time to work out, so with just 20 minutes a day, i can do this!...and it feels great!

+I've only had it a couple days, so it's too early to see results. But, I like that it doesn't take that long and I can do it right away in the morning before I get ready for work without having to get up an hour and a half early. Plus, even after only two days I feel "good" sore. Woot!

If you want a kick * workout in the shortest time possible, that seriously delivers results, this is it. Jillian will kick your * and yes, you will hate her for it, but the results will make you glad you did it.

+Wow. Awesome workout... Didn't think I could get that good of a workout in just 20 minutes... and next day feel like I've had my butt kicked I am so sore!!! Can't wait to see results!!

+I've been using the DVD for a few weeks now...still on level 1...and I don't do it everyday. But I have lost 5 pounds. Like others I was extrememely sore after the 1st workout but after waiting a couple of days got back on that horse. Now I am able to go deeper on the squats and lunges and hope to soon be ready for level 2. I like that it is in short intervals and it is a manageable 20 minute routine. I would definitely recommend it!
