Slim for Life is one of the latest books written by England’s celebrity diet doctor, Gillian McKeith. Originally from Scotland, Dr. McKeith has achieved fame and notoriety for her long-running overseas television show, as well as her blockbuster book, You Are What You Eat.
Slim for Life takes the principles from You Are What You Eat and packages it into a step-by-step, 28-day plan that promotes weight loss through the consumption of superfoods, detoxifying and food combining.
Slim for Life speaks to a generation of dieters who want to lose weight without consuming anything unnatural or artificial. Many diet foods are full of preservatives and additives; Slim for Life, on the other hand, shows how by learning to modify one's entire meal plan to holistic standards, weight loss will occur.

While the recipes on the website look simple and delicious, they fail to include nutritional information.
If, however, you are looking for ways to include more exotic grains into your life, like quinoa and amaranth, this is where you'll find recipes galore.
The Slim for Life program is heavy on beans, which can be difficult to digest for many, but Dr. McKeith also endorses "sea vegetables", such as wakame and konbu, which incidentally, are known to aid digestion. This is but one example where food combining is a critical part of the program.
In her motivational book, Slim for Life, Dr. Gillian McKeith promotes an active lifestyle, and her book, as well as the website, provide motivation and ideas for supporting daily exercise, for not just the body, but also the mind.
Slim for Life is a book that has the potential to change one's life. By providing the inspiration and the clinical research to promote holistic eating, someone who feels trapped in a cycle of yo-yo dieting can use this book to finally break free of fads and gimmicks.
While time-intensive, the book calls for a commitment to one's own life, health, and well-being. Dr. McKeith teaches and encourages a person how to live life at your ideal weight, not just today, but everyday.

I have seen Dr. Gilian's show "You are What You Eat" on BBC. It is a fun and educational program about nutrition but I am not certain about her diets being completely rounded to cover all needs of your body. By looking at her, she appears to have osteoperosis and if you look at the diets she prescribes for people, there is certainly calcium missing. I would approach this one cautiously.
