DIET and NUTRITION
While the Medifast diet contains a very detailed plan of Medifast-specific foods, the Maintain by Medifast program allows you to eat non-Medifast foods. You will most likely supplement your day’s food with Medifast bars and on-the-go snacks.
Once you determine how many calories you need to maintain your weight, you are then given a customized plan that tells you what kinds of foods you can eat and how much of them you can eat in order to maintain your weight.
EXERCISE
You are encouraged to exercise on the Maintain by Medifast diet. Although there are no specific guidelines to follow, it is recommended that you choose an activity that you enjoy and do it regularly. Gradually increase time spent on an activity and the intensity of the activity as your body allows.
CONCLUSION
Maintain by Medifast is a science-based diabetic program of low glycemic shakes, bars and soups targeted towards consumers with Type II diabetes and those who need to lose weight.
I was on medifast for 3 years. Initially, my mammograms were normal. Approximately 1 year into this diet I developed a simple cyst. While watching this closely, the next year I developed a radial scar 2.5 years on this diet. I've since been dx with LCIS, invasive ductal and lobular ca. I did also start spotting between my periods which stopped as soon as I got off this product. I have no history of breast ca in my family. I cannot help to think that being on this diet contributed to my breast cancer. I was on it for 3 years. I thought I was doing something good for my health consuming this soy product. Please be careful using this product.

I used Medifast, lost 60 pounds, and subsequently was diagnosed with early state DCIS breast cancer. I attribute this, as least partially, to the soy in the Medifast meals. I would caution anyone with a high BC risk to think twice.

I lost 47 pounds using Medifast and got breast cancer, ER and PR positive. Likely from the soy in the products. I wish I could get all my money back. What a mistake. Although the doctors think they got all the cancer, I still live in fear I may get it again. I am so sorry I ever tried these products.
