Braised Tuna

Fresh tuna with lots of elements.

Yield: Serves 4


  • 4 Tuna Fillets
  • 2 Tbs. olive oil
  • 1/2 cup sliced celery
  • 1/2 cup tomato, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp. thyme
  • 1 1/4 cup white wine
  • salt and pepper to taste


  1. Heat 1 Tbs. of olive oil and stir fry the celery until soft
  2. Stir in tomatoes and thyme and cook for about 5 minutes
  3. Place in shallow dish
  4. Heat remaining olive oil and quickly fry the tuna steaks to brown on each side
  5. Place tuna steaks on top of vegetables, season; then pour white wine
  6. Cover
  7. Bake at 325º F for 40-50 minutes until fish is tender
