Cream Of Chicken And Vanilla Soup

A new twist on an otherwise traditional soup.

Yield: Serves 8


  • 2 tsp. liquid onion spice
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped celery
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onion
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cream soup base
  • 2 cups skim milk
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 1/2 Tbs. pure vanilla extract
  • 2 cups finely sliced cooked white meat chicken
  • black pepper, to taste
  • salt, to taste


  1. In medium saucepan, saute the celery and onion in liquid onion spice until crisp-tender
  2. Add flour, soup base, milk, and water; mix well
  3. Continue to cook over medium heat until mixture begins to boil and thicken
  4. Add vanilla, chicken, salt and pepper to taste
  5. Heat through
