Grilled Sesame Salmon

A salmon dish fit for a special occasion

Yield: Serves 4


  • 2- 6 oz. salmon fillets, all skin removed
  • salt and pepper
  • 4 Tbs. sesame seeds
  • 3 tsp. olive oil
  • 2 Tbs. rice wine vinegar
  • 2 Tbs. soy sauce
  • 2 cucumbers, sliced thinly lengthwise


  1. Heat grill or broiler
  2. Slice the salmon fillets open horizontally, leaving one end intact
  3. Spread fillets open and turn over
  4. Season with salt and pepper
  5. Tightly roll fillets
  6. Secure with toothpick
  7. Pour sesame seeds into a small dish
  8. Place rolled fillets in the seeds and coat bottom
  9. Drizzle with olive oil
  10. In a small bowl, mix vinegar and soy sauce
  11. Set aside
  12. Fold edges of a piece of heavy-duty aluminum foil to form a shallow baking pan; place on grill
  13. Arrange rolled fillets on foil
  14. Grill 4-6 minutes on each side (or broil in the oven)
  15. Remove, drizzle with reserved soy mixture and place on bed of cucumber strips
