Ingredients

Of course bacon makes everything better, but since this dip uses lower fat turkey bacon as well as reduced-fat versions of sour cream and mayo it’s a not-so-guilty pleasure to indulge in. - Terry

  • 4 slices turkey bacon
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 ¼ cups reduced-fat sour cream
  • ¼ cup reduced-fat mayonnaise
  • 3 Tbsp. horseradish
  • 1/8 tsp. coarsely ground black pepper
  • ½ cup diced seeded tomato
  • Serve with: baked potato chips and/or raw vegetables such as celery sticks and baby carrots

Instructions

  1. Cook bacon as package directs in a nonstick skillet until crisp. Drain on paper towels, then crumble and set aside.

  2. Coat same skillet with nonstick cooking spray and heat over medium heat. Add onion and cook over medium-high heat, stirring frequently, until light golden and tender, about 7 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.

  3. Meanwhile, combine sour cream, mayonnaise, horseradish, and pepper in a medium bowl.

  4. Stir in the onions. Reserve 1 Tbsp. each of the tomato and bacon for garnish. Stir remaining bacon and tomato into dip. Cover and chill at least 30 minutes for flavors to blend.

  5. To serve, spoon into serving bowl and garnish top with tomato and bacon. Serve with dippers.
