Biggest Loser Walkout

I agree with Teresa. I was disappointed in ALL the contestants when they reacted so rudely to contestants coming back earlier in the season. I felt they were all being selfish saying they hadn't earned it. This is part of every season, someone allowed back. And the final walkout i just thought was ridiculous. It hurt no one but Mark & Buddy, & made them look selfish. BL IS a game, so i like the gameplay they do, but the bottom line is weight loss, and this season was NO excused, so i feel Mark & Buddy were wrong. Walking out gave them no chance to win anything, where they MIGHT have won the $100,000 at home prize. I am curious as to who started the walkout. Because all 5 were threatening, I wouldn't have cared if all 5 walked out & let others from home compete for the final prize. I just thought it was silly & I don't think there's any hidden "behind the story" story. They just knocked themselves out of any glory in the end.

Thank you for speaking up. I can understand how easy it would be to assume that what was portrayed couldn�??t be too far from the truth, because honestly, if I didn�??t know Mark, I would probably doing the same thing. However, since I do know Mark well enough to know that there is something VERY wrong with this picture, I find it amazing how many people dismiss very compelling points. The thing that�??s ironic is many of the things that people can�??t believe they did are the things that should make them realize they didn�??t do it (as portrayed anyway).

I speak of either of them, so even if you think Mark didn�??t have much of a chance (and I concede that point) Buddy had a very good chance. So if they are so greedy and selfish, why would their protest be to give that up? It clearly showed them wishing the contestants they would bring back well, so it�??s not like they thought they were taking the show down. Also, not only did they abandon a chance at cash, there should be no doubt that The Biggest Loser lawyers told them they would face this kind of backlash in an attempt to resume production. So who gives up the thing that we�??re told they didn�??t want to share and knowingly walks into a lynch mob style public relations nightmare knowingly? I don�??t care how stupid you may think they are�?�they�??re not THAT dumb! So the only thing I can conclude is that there must be something pretty awful for them to sacrifice all that in protest.



�??I read Mark�??s post hoping to find answers, but all I got was some ambiguous talk about God.�?� If quitting was about the twist, don�??t you think he would stick to his guns or at least admit he was wrong under public scrutiny? Matthew McNutt posted clearly that they are both under the threat of a million dollar penalty for communicating anything outside of what aired. So hypothetically, if there WAS something so upsetting that they couldn�??t in good conscience continue with the show, the producers would have had to broadcast that to their fan base for Mark or Buddy to be able to talk about it. Is it really a stretch that they wouldn�??t air their own dirty laundry in front of America, but instead play Mark and Buddy out to be some greedy [insert derogatory noun here]. I�??m not saying they didn�??t say the things that were aired, but again, hypothetically, if the producers were dirty, wouldn�??t it be clever to mislead the public into thinking Mark and Buddy really quit for petty selfish reasons?

Anyone can leave at any time!�?� If that�??s so, why does that change for Mark and Buddy? Suddenly they aren�??t �??living up to their end of the bargain�?�. Which is it? This just proves to me that the producers are willing to spin things however they need to in order to �??protect�?� the show.



I know there are some people that are hurt by the portrayal of what happened that are out for blood, but it�??s my hope that there are also some people that are confused by all of this and searching for answers that start to see the flaws in what I believe to be a carefully framed �??truth�?�. �??You take the blue pill and the story ends. You wake in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill and you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes.�?�

Mark knew there was no way for him to win, he could not lose any more significant weight, he would have been below the red line...he knew this. So he would rather make a stupid point than leave a 'loser', he wanted to leave a 'quitter on principle' instead. Well he and buddy are losers and quitters. How did they like the free trips (white house, Hawaii) and free world class personal trainers. Ali did a great job pointing this out on the show. My 2 cents. sparkyinfla

You have a good heart Courtney and I'm glad you are such a positive person, but I have to disagree with you here. While I'm sure the contestants aren't evil human beings, I don't think there's some magical more to the story that will make them look less like the whiny, entitled, bullies and cry babies they have looked like all season. Eliminated players getting a shot at coming back has been standard BL fare for quite awhile now and it was just silly for them to throw a hissy fit and insinuate that people working to lose weight at home while dealing with real life are not working as hard or somehow less deserving of a spot. Particularly since the main reason they got to where they are is their alliance, not their hard work. I'll be rooting for whoever of the eliminated players makes the finale, unless it's one of the bullies. This season has been a huge disappointment.

IMO, I think Mark and Buddy were pretty clear as to "why" they left. They threw away this opportunity at the LAST second when 2 other more deserving people could have had those spots from the beginning. All of America knows the contestants sign a contract, so did they not read it or are they not men of their word? I believe they are both. But overall, I've been very disappointed in this season's contestants. Ever since their treatment of Antonne, they've proved how selfish they are. They were a bunch of BULLIES!!! How can the producers of BL honestly think that this group of people have "inspired" anyone. They only thing they've inspired me to do is change the channel.
