HIIT vs Interval Training

Senior Editor of DietsInReview Brandi talks with Holly Perkins about the difference between high intensity interval training (HIIT) and regular interval training.

As it pertains to cardio exercises, like biking, swimming and running, the big difference between HIIT and interval training is how hard you're working during the periods of high physical output. In interval training, you work very hard for a period of time, and then rest. In high intensity interval training, you work as hard as possible until you feel like you need to rest for two to three minutes so that you can full recover and repeat. Holly says that with HIIT training, you get more hormonal and metabolic benefits.
