How to Make Cold Pressed Coconut Oil Part 1

Step One: Flake the Coconut

John of Discount Juicers shows you how you can make coconut flakes using a juicer. Cold pressed coconut oil is the only truly raw coconut oil.

Start with at least three coconuts, and drain the water by punching holes in the top. You can drink the coconut water, it very nutritional.

First get the meat out of the coconut shell. Cut the meat into pieces that will fit into the juicer.

Feed the pieces into the juicer and shred them. Then, spread the shreds onto dehydrator trays and dry the shreds at 118 degrees for 12 to 14 hours. These coconut flakes can then be used as they are in recipes, or make them into coconut butter or raw coconut oil.
