I lost 70 lbs on a cookie diet and kept them off almost 3 years now! While Dr. Siegal's worked for me I preferred R&D Diet Cookie. I went with them mostly because they cost less and ended up liking them better.

I cut down the sugar & substitute canola oil for the butter, & whole wheat flour instead of white flour. Just takes some trial & error to get it to work!

It is easy to substitute applesauce or pumpkin in place of oil. Greek yogurt is also a great ingredient to work with!

+To cut down the calories, I replace some of the sugar and sweeteners with lots of cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla. My kids don't miss the sugar and the spices are good for you!

I don't try to makeover my cookie recipes; I just enjoy them as they are, but as an occasional special treat only. I would love to win the cookies and cookbook, thanks for the contest!

I started Dr. Seigal's diet in January 2011 and as of today I am down 62 pounds. I love the cookies and they really are filling. I think the key to keeping the weight off is to eat small snacks (100 cal) every 2 hours. I have tried both cookie plans and like them both.

I use unsweetened applesauce in place of half the fat :D

The best way to make over my cookie receipe is NOT to make them. It's too tempting for me to eat them if I make them. Seriously if I do make them I try and cut down on the amount of sugar I put in them. If it needs more sweetening them I'll put in some honey. Natural sugar is always better.
