The Vegan diet is great. I've been a vegetarian for 15 years and just went vegan in Dec. 2011. Eating fish is not part of the vegetarian/vegan diet. Fish are animals. Vegetarians do not consume animal flesh.

I'm a Coptic Christian & in my religion, we fast around 200 days a year. Our fasting involves becoming vegan for big part of this duration. So I can easily say, we're professionals in the vegan diet & incorporating various vegan food groups to ensure you have no nutritional deficiencies.
posted Feb 19th, 2012 2:28 amFrom my experience, a vegan diet will make you feel great spiritually & physically. You will eliminate any cellulite you had, your hair & skin will look & feel great. In terms of weight loss & bloatness, it doesn't work (unless your usual dietary habits prior to fasting were completely messed up).
The tendency to rely on lentils & carbs like rice, bread, etc doesn't work.
What actually works though, is what we do before Easter. We go completely vegan except for fish. Any type of fish is allowed. This is actually works & you will see significant weight loss.
