Nutrisystem’s Hot Dog in a Box Not as Bad as it Sounds

Hi everyone! My name is Lori Jackson and I am super excited to share my experiences with you about the Nutrisystem meal plan. I don’t want to call it a diet, I have always hated that word, as most of us have. This is the springboard for a healthier lifestyle for me. I will be sharing my experience with Nutrisystem for the next 16 weeks, right here at DietsInReview.com.

Watch now as I introduce myself and talk a bit about what my first week on Nutrisystem was like. Then, keep reading to learn more, and hear about the hot dog in a box!

Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I am 47-years old and the mother to three amazing adult children and a new grandmother to two darling little girls. My starting weight is 175 pounds, and I’m ready lose a lot of that to be healthier for me and my family. I work in an un-airconditioned warehouse and walk between 7 and 10 miles each day; it’s a very labor-intensive job. Right now it is about 90 degrees in there so my workout is basically at work. I am really not minding the heat because it really is doing me a lot of good.

When my first box of Nutrisystem food arrived at my house last week I started to peek at what was in there. The breakfast items are pretty much cereal and muffins. And so far they have been really good. I was afraid with the work that I do that the breakfast was not going to be enough to sustain me through lunch, but I save the fresh fruit for the middle of the morning and that has worked very well for me.

Going through the lunch items I found a lot of soups and pasta dishes. And then, the HOTDOG! I thought to myself that day… “OMG! A hotdog? How is that going to taste?”, and I was a bit skeptical. So about day four I decided it was time… try it and see what a hotdog that arrives in an un-refrigerated box, and won’t go bad, tastes like. And I was very surprised that it was actually very tasteful. This is what I have found with most of the food that Nutrisystem sent me.

With my labor-intensive work, again, I was worried about how the lunch would sustain me. And for the most part it has and if I start getting hungry at the 4 o’clock hour I keep some raisins and peanuts at work and also chew gum. Sugar-free of course, and that helps so much.

I will talk more about the dinner menu and the snacks that are provided next time. Until then, keep working out and drink lots and lots of water!
