Janet Jackson attended Milan Fashion Week in Italy this week looking as slim as ever, proving that she knows how to lose the weight and keep it off.
Jackson, 46, made headlines last year for her dramatic 60-plus pound weight loss as an official Nutrisystem spokesperson.
Jackson lost the weight on Nutrisystem Success, which is the meal delivery program’s extension specifically designed to help members transition back into their everyday routine once losing the weight. It also holds more emphasis on daily exercise.
During her time with Nutrisytem, Jackson revealed what always stood between her and any successful weight loss attempts. “Dieting never worked for me, counting calories never worked for me, and denying myself the foods I love never worked for me,” she said. “I needed a better plan, and I found it with Nutrisystem.”
Since her dramatic weight loss, Jackson has reportedly graduated from the Nutrisystem Success plan and taken her diet into her own hands. She’s done so successfully thus far, maintaining her weight loss by observing proper portion control and staying active to keep her body lean and healthy.
Jackson has revealed in the past that she’s had a lifelong struggle with body image and her weight. She told CNN’s Piers Morgan in 2024 that she was teased a lot as a child, which made it difficult to accept herself. Ongoing pressure to be slim and performance ready throughout her adolescent and teen years added even more stress, which caused Jackson to rely on drastic measures to stay thin. This vicious cycle led her to have an unhealthy relationship with food, which ultimately caused Jackson to become an emotional eater.
However, since her most recent weight loss success it seems Jackson has unlocked the code to living a healthy, happy life, and she certainly looked it in Milan this week accompanied by fiancé, Wissam al Mana.
The media and fashion week-goers alike also seemed to take notice of Jackson’s bold braids, similar to the style she donned in the movie “Poetic Justice” in 1993. With all eyes on Jackson, it must feel good to finally be confident in her own skin.
