Is Inhale-able Chocolate a Cure for Your Sweet Tooth?

Inhaleable ChocolateEver wish you could satisfy your chocolate craving without the calories? Le Whif Chocolate claims you can. This little lipstick-shaped tube contains inhale-able chocolate that you breath in. All you have to do is open the container and breath in.

Each container is good for eight to ten “hits,” or servings, of chocolaty goodness and contains 300 milligrams of real chocolate. You consume 40 to 80 milligrams per breath, or less than one calorie. The makers say the particles don’t enter your lungs, but settle on your tongue so that you can taste them.

Le Whif is available in raspberry chocolate, mint chocolate and milk chocolate flavors. There’s also coffee Whifs available, for anyone who wants to cut down on their caffeine intake.

Everything You Need to Know About Counting Calories

Counting calories can be an excellent way to lose weight. After all, to lose weight you have to burn more calories than you take in. By tracking your calories each day, you can better balance how much exercise you need to create a deficit. The more you go over your calorie goal, the more you’ll need to burn in the gym or compensate for with your next meal. Remember, you need a 3,500 calorie deficit to lose one pound.

So, just how do you count calories? Well, it’s pretty easy. First, you determine the best way for you to track your calories. There are many online places to log your calories, food journals you can buy, or you can even make your own food diary using a plain notebook. Be sure to pick the method that is most convenient for your lifestyle. Next, you need access to a reliable calorie-counter book or website, such as CalorieKing.com. From there, you just write down every little thing and bite that you have no matter how small it is, along with its amount of calories. At the end of each day (or as you go), tally up how many calories you’ve eaten and see if that number meets your calorie-restriction goals. Adjust as necessary!

The 17 Day Diet Can’t Meet Demand

Since The 17 Day Diet first debuted in late November 2024 people everywhere have been clamoring to find out more about it and how to get their hands on it. We see a lot of diet programs at DietsInReview.com, obviously, and we can honestly say we haven’t seen demand like this for a weight loss product in a very long time. It’s become the hottest diet of 2024, and we’re barely a week in.

While the plan seems balanced and reasonable, as long as people are willing to make changes to their lifestyles, the one downside is that it seems to be impossible to get. We’re moderating comments as fast as we can and all seem to say the same thing: “how do I get it” or “where is mine?”.

The 17 Day Diet is quickly becoming a lesson in supply and demand. The demand for this book is overwhelming, and exceeding expectations, and because of that, the supply can’t keep up.

In our interview with Dr. Mike Moreno, the book’s author, in December 2024 we asked him about the order stress. From that interview:

For those of you who’ve ordered a copy and haven’t received it yet, Dr. Mike asks that you let them know. He said as of 12/20/10, all orders had been shipped, and that the delay is because they just didn’t expect the sizable response that they received. (more…)

Cinch! Diet Requires Chocolate

Cinch Conquer Cravings, Drop Pounds and Lose InchesDietician Cynthia Sass is the author behind several diet books, including Prevention’s Flat Belly Diet. Her latest book, Cinch! Conquer Cravings, Drop Pounds and Lose Inches, outlines a diet plan for people who are tired of counting calories and even requires a little chocolate.

The Cinch! diet ditches calorie counting in favor of guidelines for healthy eating. The plan recommends that you eat four meals per day, and every meal is constructed as a puzzle that contains the same five pieces. The pieces are:

1. Produce (Fruit at breakfast and snack meals, vegetables at lunch and dinner)
2. Fiber
3. Lean protein (Includes vegetarian, vegan and omnivore choices)
4. Plant-based fat
5. Slimming and satiating seasonings (vinegar, citrus juice, cinnamon, ginger, ect.)

Are You in Denial About Your Weight?

Denial is not just a river in Egypt. Recent studies indicate that most Americans drastically underestimate how much they really weigh. In fact, more than 25% of women report that they are at a normal weight, and they are really obese.

It’s not until we look at a picture of ourselves – maybe one that we don’t even recognize – or try on last season’s clothing and then are faced with the reality that we’ve put on more than a few pounds. Why do we have such an “obesity blind spot”?

Obesity is an epidemic in current society. It’s everywhere, in every circumstance. Slowly, we’ve become accustomed to seeing people in larger sizes. Recently, I went to dinner with my husband, and I took a look at the other diners. More than 80% of them were overweight, including the children. What we see on a daily basis no longer shocks us. How can we get past this and make sure that we are a healthy shape and size?

Sensa: Can You Really Sprinkle Yourself to a Healthy Weight?

By Descygna Webb

As we kick off another year in the world of New Year’s Resolutions that include dieting and losing weight, several products are in the spotlight. One product called Sensa is getting a lot of buzz as the answer to every dieter’s prayers. Sensa includes Tastants that you sprinkle on your food before you eat. That’s it. You don’t have to work out, diet or do anything but sprinkle this stuff on everything you eat and you’ll lose weight.

Typically, products making claims like that are those you should run from, and fast. Sensa Tastants use your sense of smell to help you feel full while eating less food. Sensa has done a clinical study to prove that the product works. In a study of over 1,400 men and women over 6 months, there was an average weight loss of just over 30 pounds. The people participating in the study were told to continue eating the same foods they always have, but to use Sensa on everything. There was no change in their everyday habits other than using Sensa. There is a red flag with this study though. There is no proof that anyone outside of the Sensa organization oversaw or reviewed the study. This means that there is no credible unbiased third party that can vouch for this study or its results.

Obese at Higher Risk of Car Crash Death

Obesity comes with many health risks. Now there’s an unexpected one you can add to the list. A recent study has found that obese people are at a higher risk of dying in major car accidents.

According to researchers, someone who is even just moderately obese is 21 percent more likely to die in a severe car crash as compared to a non-obese driver. If you are severely obese, your chances of dying are even higher: 56 percent above a non-obese person.

In what may be chalked up to a statistical anomaly, people who were only slightly overweight in the study actually had a lower chance of dying. (more…)

Children’s Eating Habits Aren’t Influenced by their Parents, Study Says

The New York Times reported on a collection of research done which examined different studies related to children’s eating habits and those of their parents. The results surprised (and slightly disappointed) me. It turns out that we can only accomplish so much by setting good examples. The old adage, “It takes a village to raise a child” came to mind when I learned that external influences play a greater role in shaping the eating habits of our youngsters than we, the parents, do.

Dr. Youfa Wang, of Johns Hopkins, led the team of researchers and they admit that the findings were a bit flimsy. According to the New York Times, “The authors acknowledge that their conclusions were based on limited data, that only three of the studies were conducted in developing countries, and that methodologies varied.” Even after accounting for less-than-ideal studies, it certainly appears that the parent-child connection just doesn’t hold strong enough in a world inundated with advertisements and bad influences.

50 Things You Can do Today to Improve Your Health

Most health and fitness advice is full of don’ts: Don’t eat after 7, don’t eat fast food, don’t enjoy anything you eat, ever again. That negative connotation is why people view fitness and weight loss as a punishment, or something to be white-knuckled through.

Lasting change is made when you build a habit- and habits are made by systematically DOING something repeatedly until it becomes ingrained. Depriving yourself will not build habits, being proactive will.

So instead of pummeling you with more “don’ts” to make you feel like a failure, here are 50 things you can DO, today, that will improve your health. Pick one a day to try out, or choose one and repeat it everyday until it becomes a habit, but either way, these little “dos” will boost your health the second you do them.
