Do You Know the Best Diet Pills of 2024?
If you're looking to curb your appetite, now you can take a shot. Slim Shots triggers the body's natural appetite control mechanism, also known as the ileal brake, satisfying users for long periods of time and in turn, allowing them to eat less, without sacrificing or depriving themselves of tasty foods. You can drink Slim Shots by itself or mix it with your favorite food or drink.
For the best results, you take two shots a day (20 calories each) the first week, then after that, just once during breakfast. Slim Shots is supposed to start working a couple hours after you take it. It has no stimulants, so there are no jittery side effects.
The company rightly advises that you need to do Slim Shots in conjunction with a balanced diet and exercise.
- The Slim Shots website offers clinical studies
- It doesn't act like a cure all, stating that you need to live a healthy lifestyle as well
- Convenient cups travel with you
- No side effects
- Slim Shot is not FDA approved
- There isn't a clear and concise idea of how it actually works, doesn't give specifics about how the ingredients affect change
- Each shot contains 20 calories
- Ingredient Phenylalanine (50% of aspartame), can have dangerous effects for diabetics and those with ADD/ADHD
- Should not be taken by those patients with PKU
Slim Shots contains natural oat, palm oil, artificial vanilla flavor, sweetener, aspartame (Phenylalanine) and beta carotene color.
Phenylalanine makes of 50% of aspartame, an artificial sweetner commonly used in diet products. ADD/ADHD patients and diabetics may experience negative side effects as a result of consuming this ingredient. Those with PKU, or at risk for PKU, should avoid Phenylalanine as it can cause brain damage or even death.
Unlike many other supplement websites, the Slim Shots site gives relatively in-depth nutritional advice. The exercise advice is very rudimentary: Commit to work out three times a week for 30 to 45 minutes. It also advises that you join a fitness class or devise a home workout routine that incorporates both aerobic and strength training.
The editorial tone on the Slim Shots website doesn't lead you to believe that the company is in the snake oil business. There are clinical studies posted, and good advice about how you should eat and exercise. Even though the language is not over-hyped, there still is some question as to how Slim Shots actually works.
Ultimately, it's up to the consumer to decide if it's worth, um, a shot.

I've been taking these for about a week and they do seem to work. I take one around 11:00 a.m. - it seems to decrease my appetite for several hours. It may be a matter of taste or opinion, but I think they taste horrible, you need to have something with strong flavor right after (pop, gum, etc.).

Does Curves, still discourage working out more than three times a week?

1st Day...Took 1 at 9 am in coffee (tasted bad) took second one at 11am alone and was tolerable. Hey, if it works I can tolerate anything in that small of a quantity. I lost 6 lbs overnight. CRAZY! I was urinating all day long. So I am sure it is water weight. I think it curbed some of my appetite. I did eat less and didn't snack.

Julie, I couldn't agree with you more. The taste is strange and it stays with you all day, but what a small price to pay! My appetite is kept in check all day, and coupled with Alli, I am losing inches like crazy!

great product---terrible taste. the texture is disgusting and yes, you continue to taste it for awhile, but it works so well it's worth it. i follow it with a bite of something crunchy, like a triscuit, and that REALLY helps. i haven't snacked or cleaned my plate in 2 days!! yay!

If this is oil based, I guess it would have a bad effect on Alli?

I have always been around 125 pounds all my life. I quit smoking in Jan and from then I have gained 25 pounds. I have tried everything I can think of but I cant help it, I love to snack after dinner before bed every night to take place of the cigarettes. Over the weekend I found a $3.00 off coupon in the paper for Slim Shots so I read some reviews and went out last night and bought the box. I took my first one last night and downed a glass of water after. The first taste was not so bad but I kept burping up the flavor the entire night. NOT GOOD. It really tastes bad. However on the upside I did not eat dinner and not once did I put anything in my mouth except for water nor did I want too all night which is great. This morning I got up made a bowl of oatmeal took a couple bites and downed a shot, I then chased it with some coffee and some more oatmeal. I could not finish the oatmeal after that. The taste in my mouth was not good. The taste kept on coming up on me and started making me sick. I rinsed my mouth with listerine and brushed my teeth again but I could still taste it. On my way to work an half hour later I can still taste it after another cup of coffee and a bottle of water later. Not sure if I want to take another one with my lunch because I honestly feel it in my stomach and I feel like I want to throw up. The good news is, I am not hungry whatsoever and I cant even think of food. If I can get past the taste I have in my mouth I feel like I can drop these 25 pounds in no time. Can anyone tell me if they have the same feeling? If so what did you do to get rid of this feeling? I will keep everyone posted on my journey if I dont throw up first. Good Luck Loren

I too brought the slim shots and it did suppress my appetite as well. However, I did not know, until Brenda mentioned it in her comments, that it does contain "Aspartame". It is an extremely dangerous product, and i will NOT use this product (SlimShots) anymore. I'd rather take the safe road too!!! It's just not worth it. Thanks Brenda for the heads up!!

Alright, just bought them today. They taste a bit like Play-doh but I mixed one with light chocolate soymilk and got it down very easily. So far I'm not feeling hungry, but it's only the first try. I'll keep the site posted on my progress! Good luck everyone:)

So here's the good news and the bad news. The good news is that it doesn't taste too bad and I've had no negative side effects. The bad news...it's not working and I've been using it for 3 days. I'm so disappointed. I had such high hopes based on what I've been reading in the above reviews. I only need to lose about 10lbs, but this has done zero to suppress my appetite. Maybe it will kick in and start to work soon?? Somehow I doubt it. Money not well spent, sadly. FYI, if you add Slim Shots to whatever you're eating or drinking, that food or drink will still taste likeSlim Shots-it's not going to be disguised AT ALL. It's just easier to down it by itself.

these are the most filthy and disgusting tasting little diet tricks i've ever tasted. don't waste your money on it. [the only reason i didn't eat afterward is because i couldn't because the slimshot made me so sick]. putrid.

I just started and they seem fine, but I am really thirsty. Did anyone have increased thirst? That sounds weird for only oils so I'm a little concerned there is more in there that they are saying.

Ok, I bought these today. I am going to try my first one tomorrow AM. I do cardio 5 days a week, and weight training 2-3. I really eat pretty healthy, but snack so much. Even if it is healthy, you still have to burn more than you are putting in! Remember that. Also, you need to teach yourself to eat right and exercise - that is lifelong folks. Slimshots is just a perk! If it will curb my appetite, I am happy!!!!! Good luck to you all!

I bought this on Sunday 08/17/08. Took it about 7:00pm. Slept hard, so therefore, it did not give me the jitters or adrenalin rush. I woke up without the "I'm starving" feeling. Took one at 6:30am this morning. Did have a small pack of cookies & a pepsi at 7:00 (Habit-BAD habit). Usually still, if I have those at 7,I get very hungry again by 10. It's 11:00 now and I'm only a little hungry, but not much as I'd usually be by this time. So right now, I'm pleased. I'll write again when I'm done with the box to give you an update.

Did NOT work for me, took it for 3 days & felt hungrier. The worst part is it made me bloated and gassy! I do not recommend it for anyone with sensitive stomachs!!

These are not horrible tasting at all. Been on this for four days and have not noticed one change. Take two/day. Appetite still the same. I think this is a clever gimmick
