Celebrity personal trainer and Biggest Loser star Bob Harper has written a new book called The Skinny Rules: The Simple Nonnegotiable Principles for Getting to Thin.
This diet-focused book is intended to cut through the conflicting weight-loss information that is circulating and causing more confusion than results. Harper hopes The Skinny Rules will be the last diet book you'll ever need.
Harper, best known for his role as a trainer on The Biggest Loser, has helped countless contestants achieve amazing results with his insight, encouragement and advice. The Skinny Rules will show you how to lose weight no matter how much or how little you have to lose, just like his Biggest Loser contestants were able to do.
Harper used his knowledge of nutrition and weight-loss strategy to come up with 20 principles that will finally get you the results you are seeking. Specifically, the book will help you break your dependence on processed foods and reduce your cravings for overly-sweet and salty foods.
Along with the 20 principles in The Skinny Rules, readers will get one month of menu plans and several recipes to try for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks.
A few of the rules you will find in the book are:
- Eat protein at every meal, making some kind of fish your protein whenever possible. You should have roughly half your body weight in grams of protein each day.
- Make one day each week a meatless day. This can help add variety to your diet.
- Go to bed slightly hungry. This will make your body start burning its own fat and sugar for fuel.
- Enjoy a splurge meal each week. Planning this meal will allow you to maintain control and avoid bingeing.
Find The Skinny Rules online and at national retailers starting May 15, 2012.

+I love this book! I went to buy a book for my husband for Christmas and found this one for me. Started following the book's rules and menus to a "T" on Jan 1st and have lost 12 pounds already. This averages to 3 pounds per week. I have to add that this is also is the only thing that has helped me with my weight loss efforts since going into full-fledged menopause. Lastly, the weight loss has occurred even without daily visits to the gym. The book is very easy to follow and there is a lot of common sense in it!

The book is easy to follow. It was been difficult incoporating all 20 rules the first few days. Be patient and do not get frustrated if you cannot follow all the rules in the beginning. Baby steps!

+I love the book, but it is hard to follow at first because of the go to bed a little hungry. Trying to get all that protein in each day is hard when you come from a history of a bad diet. It will take about 30 days to get in the flow of things, but it does work. Mix with his DVDs
