Who doesn’t want to look their ultimate best on their wedding day? Rather than spending chunks of money on a pricey diet program or personal trainer, you can instead follow the pre-wedding day fitness plan laid out in Buff Brides: The Complete Guide to Getting in Shape and Looking Great for Your Wedding Day.
The book contains a 6-month program, but for those soon-to-be-brides who don’t have that much time to get toned, there is also a 12-week crash program that will whip you into shape so that you’ll feel and look your best on your wedding day.
Created by trainer Sue Fleming who has helped thousands of brides get in shape for the past 10 years, Buff Brides is a comprehensive and practical program that works for any body type.
Program is tailored to different wedding day deadlines
Exercise can be done at home
Targets specific problem areas like arms, abs or thighs
Includes clear instructions and illustrative pictures
Dissuades brides from following fad diets
CON
Does not include a diet plan
DIET and NUTRITION
There are no specific diet guidelines to follow while training with Buff Brides. The author discourages going on any extreme or starvation diet as you prepare for your wedding day and instead encourages you to get 15 to 20 percent of your calories from protein.
EXERCISE
The focus of Buff Brides is exercise. You will be expected to workout three to four days a week for 30-60 minutes. The strength training portion takes about 30 minutes to complete and the cardio adds on another 20-30 minutes. There is much more focus on strength training exercises than the cardio component. All of the exercises can be done at home with very little equipment and space.
The book is categorized into problem areas: abs, butt, arms, etc. Each exercise comes with clear instructions and an illustrative picture for each exercise.
CONCLUSION
Buff Brides is a fitness book created for soon-to-be brides, but bridesmaids or anyone who has a big event they need to get in shape for can also benefit from it. Broken down into two programs, a 24-week and a 12-week, Buff Brides provides a weekly exercise schedule that includes clear instructions and illustrations. The only two main criticisms are that there is not a diet or eating plan and that the book should be spiral bound to ensure easier use.
