Curves Smart is a personal coaching exercise system that provides constant feedback as you workout. Many Curves gyms are already equipped with these small computer-like devices that are attached to all of the studio’s machines. After you complete a personalized profile with the assistance of a Curves coach, you are issued a Curves Smart ID Tag with your fitness profile on it. When you approach a machine, you swipe the tag by the monitor and it automatically retrieves your profile to determine the specifications for your workout.
While you workout, it monitors your heart rate, whether you are achieving your goal intensity level, the number of repetitions performed and the range of motion for each repetition. At the end of your workout, you receive a progress report that tells you how many calories you burned and which muscles you worked.
Do You Know the Best Diets of 2024?
- Customized exercise system that matches your fitness goals
- Curves Smart monitors your workout progress
- Keeps you motivated
- Easy and convenient to use
- Must be a Curves member to use
- Not available at all Curves locations
- Computer software program may not be accurate
The Curves Smart device does not contain any diet or nutrition information but it does tell you how many calories you burned in each workout.
As a member of Curves, you'll have access to their Six Week Solution program, which allows you to eat five times each day and restricts consumption of processed packaged foods.
Curves Complete is the brand's online weight loss plan and there you'll receive daily meal plans for three meals and two snacks, as well as guidance on eating a diet rich in fiber and water.
The Curves Smart ID Tag allows you to keep track of your fitness goals and monitor the intensity of your exercise sessions. After completing your personalized profile, a Curves staff member will help to develop a workout program that is designed for your body type, endurance and exercise goals.
The Curves Smart technology helps you to stay motivated while you workout and monitors your progress during your sessions. For instance, if you’re not within your target heart range, you will receive a yellow signal, alerting you to work harder. If you’re working within your target intensity range, you’ll see a green light on the display screen encouraging you to continue working out at the same pace.
At the end of your session, you will receive a complete workout analysis.
Curves Smart is a new form of exercise technology that helps to keep you motivated and displays your progress as you workout. Even though it is convenient to use and it is customized to your own body type and fitness goals, the Curves Smart computerized program is not yet available in all Curves gyms.

-I went to Curves for the first time this moring at 6h00am. Did not do any workout, they told me alllll about the program and that I am over weitght (hallo, like I dont know that) and they tried to sell me a gym contract. I want to loose a lot of weight yes, but I also told her we are going for IVF. I dont think she knows what it is, cause she carried on telling me that I would have to join for a year to get to my goal weight. Funny. I thing having a baby inbetween is going to take a bit longer. Anyway she said its R325pm if you sign a contract and R425pm if you prefer month to month. I must have a lable on my forehead stating "I AM WEALTHY BEYOND BELIEF"... I dont like gyms, never have. But I was going to give it another go. Now...... I am not quite sure and at an arm and a leg I pretty much doubt it.

?Curves Smart Tag and Weightloss, am I doing it right?- ADVICE?? I have been doing curves since the end of January, and was measured a month after. At my measurement, I had gained 3 lbs, lost an inch in one place, but gained an inch elsewhere... AND the kicker, i managed to GAIN a whole percentage of body fat.. I felt so defeated, and still do. I have been going roughly 5-6 times a week, and REALLY doing the workout. The smart tag is a great way to stay motivated, and see that you burned A LOT of calories (seriously.. it says I burn an average of 400 cals in half an hour.. don't know if I believe this. ) If I am not at curves, I am jogging or playing competitive soccer. I will admit to eating junk, but nothing crazy. I have a fairly regular diet, and I figured going from doing absolutely nothing to hitting the gym 6 times a week would show major results.. ANY ADVICE!?!?!?!

+I have been a member of Curves since they opened in my area in June 07. I lost sufficient cms and kgs, but plateaued after reaching a reasonable goal. We are having the Curves Smart system installed within the next month and I am really excited about taking it to the next level! I love Curves! The hardest thing about it, is getting there.

+I joined 12-31-2010 and in 6 months I lost 14 pounds and 22.5 inches. I was disappointed with the weight loss but pleased with the lost of inches. I enjoy it alot.

+Since May 6 I have lost 20+ inches, mostly off my waist line, and 23 pounds. I do the Curves smart program, and to meet my weight loss goals I have found that I have to do the entire circuit at least twice to burn the calories I need to burn off. I go to Curves at least 5 days a week, usually 6. It works, but you really have to work hard if you want to succeed.

+I have started the curves smart now for five weeks. I lost 4 pounds (1) per week and of course inches. It keeps me motivated. I thought I was working out hard before but now I know I am.

+I went for my first weigh in on June 5. I have lost 6.5 lbs, and 3.14 of those pounds were body fat. I lost an entire point of my BMI (body mass index) and lost a total of 8.75 inches, 4.5 of those from my waist. I really work the program and am now burning an average of 400 calories per session. I also eat a low fat diet and try not to eat more than 1200-1500 calories per day, mostly high protein foods and lots of fresh veggies. It seems like it's taking a long time, but I know I have gained a lot of lean muscle.

+I joined curves about 3 weeks ago. The workouts seemed pretty wimpy, so I asked one of the girls working there if she could start me on the Curves Smart workout. Now I can actually feel a difference in the intensity of each workout and know how many calories I am burning, which is around 300 per workout. I have been going at least 5 days a week, sometimes 6 (my location is closed on Sundays.) I haven't been on the scale yet, I am waiting for my 1st month weigh-in. It does seem like my clothes are getting a little looser, and I am toning up. I plan to stick with the workouts and give Curves a chance. Hopefully some weight will come off soon!

+I like Curves Smart program. I have lost mostly inches, not pounds. I workout 3 times a week and use my treadmill at home. Found that I needed something else besides Curves, so I purchased a treadmill.

I've been a member of curves for about a year now. I don't need to lose any weight, but I do like to maintain it, and tone up. I always thought I worked out fairly hard, until my club got the curves smart system in a few weeks ago. I've been using the curves smart system now for 2 weeks, and the difference in the intensity of my workout is unreal! I can already feel my fitness improving loads! I try to go 5 mornings a week, and when I leave after the workout I feel soo good for the rest of the day! It's great to see how hard you've worked, & how had you've worked each muscle, and I love seeing how much calories I've burned ( I'm now burning off over 600cl every workout!). I would definantly recommend Curves to anyone, the motivation you get from this new system is just brilliant! A*****

-If I worked out at a Curves that kept their hydraulics up to par maybe i would get a better workout. The owners are really giving Curves a bad name.

I'm with Curves now for 4 years, in between I tried another Gym, but that was not for me. I prefer Curves because it only takes 30 min and I can work out without waiting for machines. Our Curves (Stellenbosch, South Africa) are one of those who have the Smart system. I can now see that I do the exercises correctly, all the dots on the report are green. The Calories that I burn are also going up. In the 2 weeks that I started on the Curves Smart & eating smaller portions and healthier I lost 2.3kg and 10cm. The Curves Smart helps you to do better each day when you exercise.

+I have been at curves for about 2 months now, though I have not lost any weight, I have lost 8 inches overall and my body fat percentage is down my 2%. My clothes fit me better and I feel as if I am toning up. Since muscle weighs more than fat, I have probably gained muscle and thats why no weight has been lost. Overall I feel more energetic and as long as the inches are going its excellent.
