BACKGROUNDBACKGROUND Start the Diet Now Advertisement

Get ready for a fresh, dynamic way to work out! Jillian Michaels adds extra weight to her hard-core circuit training techniques for a total-body workout designed to burn maximum fat.

Shred it with Weights sets itself apart from Jillian's other fitness routines because it uses the kettlebell, a small hand-held iron weight that looks a bit like a cannonball. It is used for ballastic or explosive whole-body workouts.

Kettlebells are different than just regular hand weights or dumbbells because the weight in a kettlebell is extended beyond just the hand. This allows for a wide range of movements that use the strength in the muscles, shoulders and low back to perform the swinging movements characteristic of this form of exercise.

You can lose up to five pounds in just one week of doing this high intensity body sculpting workout, by the Biggest Loser's toughest trainer.

Stick with Jillian’s program for 30 days and you could see a lean, shredded body.

While Jillian Michaels has a variety of different diet plans to follow, Shred-It With Weights does not include one.

EXERCISEEXERCISE

Using a kettlebell or a single hand weight, Shred-It With Weights helps you build lean muscle and burn mega calories with two 30-minute boot camp workouts. Begin with Level 1 and progress to Level 2 for maximum body- shredding results.

For beginner exercisers, it is recommended to invest in a 10-pound kettlebell; those with more fitness experience can safely invest in a 15-pound one to perform all of the exercises.

Jillian guides you along the kettlebell exercises with special attention paid to form and alignment so that you don't hurt yourself and that you get the most out of your workout.

Shred it with Weights uses the traditional kettlebell moves like the swing, snatch and clean and jerk but Jillian adds her own spin on them rephrasing the names of the exercises and subtly adjusting their movements.

Working with a kettlebell in Shred it with Weights is both a cardiovascular and strength-training form of exercise.

CONCLUSIONCONCLUSION

The Jillian Michaels empire continues to grow and now with Shred-It With Weights, this tough but tough-loving trainer motivates you to eke out every last repetition to build lean and strong muscles from your biceps to your calves with the kettlebell.

I purchased this video at a closeout store for $3.00. I work out 5 days a week and couldnt make it to the gym so I decided to try it. I did not have a kettlebell so I used to weights off of my bar (5 lbs I think). The video was only 30 minutes long, but I got my heart rate up to 170 and burned 300 calories doing version 2. I WAS SORE THE NEXT DAY. I havent been sore in soo long so it was a nice change.
