Adipex Phentermine (Adipex P) diet pill is a prescription diet pill that is used to help people lose weight who are obese (have a Body Mass Index of 30 or higher) or have serious health risks due to their size. It is more commonly known by the brand name Phentermine. It works as an appetite suppressant. It is taken in conjunction with certain food requirements and an exercise program. Adipex P is only used for a few weeks (less than 12 weeks) since its effectiveness decreases with prolonged use.
The drug is taken one time each day either in the morning or 10 hours before bedtime, because of its known effects of interrupting sleep.
You should take Adipex P only and exactly how it was directed to you by your physician.
Prescription Phentermine has been approved by the FDA
Clinically shown to aid in weight loss in obese individuals
CON
Long-term use can cause irritability, skin problems or sleeping difficulties
Can become addictive
Various and numerous side effects are associated with Adipex
Be sure to read the lengthy disclaimer regarding health conditions that do not support taking Adipex P, such as high blood pressure, anxiety or heart disease
Side effects include raising blood pressure and heart rate
DIET and NUTRITION
While taking Adipex P, you are to follow a sound diet of balanced meals and snacks. You are also to avoid alcohol while you are taking this drug. The drug is most effective when it is accompanied by a healthy, balanced diet and regular exercise regimen.
EXERCISE
It is recommended to follow a regular exercise routine when taking Adipex P. Be sure to discuss with your physician first and get his or her approval. Given the stimulating effects of Adipex P and its effect of raising heart rate and elevating blood pressure, following an exercise plan that has been suggested by your doctor is highly recommended.
CONCLUSION
Adipex P is a prescription weight loss drug that may help in weight loss, but it also comes with a host of side effects and risks. Since it can only be used for a small amount of time, the individual is then responsible for learning how to eat sensibly once the prescribed amount of time for taking the drug is complete. Given its side effects, its drug interactions and its risk for addiction, Adipex P must be taken under the guidance and observation of a medical doctor.
Started Adipex 37.5mg today. I took a 1/2 tablet (19mg) in the morning around 10am and within an hour was feeling quite spritey and full of energy. Was literally running from place to place instead of walking, this medicine makes you want to move, which would be great for getting out and exercising. Was somewhat jittery when I was sitting still but overall not bad. I had a little chest pain but my breathing has seemed to improve and my circulation seems better. I've not felt hot but at lunch, I was only able to eat 1/2 of what I would have normally eaten at the restaurant (which would have been huge). I took the rest home but even now at 6pm, I'm not hungry, just having some water from the fridge.

I have been using Adipex for 1 week now and have lost 5 lbs without doing anything! I am so excited. With this pill I dont think about eating all the time. I always feel full, but not bloated. I take one pill each morning and thats it. I cant imagine how much I would have lost if I was exercising as well. I take the high dose and have not had any side effects yet.. Lost more in 1 week with Adipex then I lost when I did the insanity workout for 2 MONTHS!

I started adipex yesterday and I didn't sleep well at all lastnight, I was up pretty much every hour and then finally just got up at 5 a.m. Has anyone tried taking a sleeping aid? Just something over the counter, I take half a pill in the morning and wouldnt take a sleeping pill till around 9:30...think this would be okay?

I just went back to my first 30 day checkup, after being on it. I'm 47, 5-6 and started at 258. I lost 9 lbs! I've never lost 9 lbs (unless it was after giving birth). I don't have much chance to exercise with work and school. I'm really pleased with it. The Dr is giving me only 2 more months on it - but yes, it does decrease some appetite. And if I'm hungry, I don't get the shakes. And it does make me wake up too early in the morning - but usually I can go back to sleep for another hr or two.

I started taking adipex on 4-20-11 weighing 234 and today 6-27-11 I weigh 199. when i first started taking it the weight was coming off fast had no desire to eat after 2 weeks my appetite started to come back but I realized it was more mental the more i thought about food the more i felt hungry, I'm still taking adipex and the weight is still comming off
I tried taking adipex in september of 2009, 6weeks after having my second son. It just didnt work out for me. I was so jittery and all over the place constantly. And it kept me up all night long. That was the main reason i stopped taking it. I couldnt keep staying up all night then taking care of a newborn all day. It made me feel like i was on crack. And i was having anxiety attacks at least twice a day. So i went off it and continued to gain weight and be frumpy. About a week ago i decided to give it anither shot. I just took 1/2 the first two days then took a whole pill for the next three. The first few days i felt fine, not one problem. Lots of energy, no appetite. But when i started taking the whole pill i started getting the anxiety attacks again. I've already lost 3lbs in the first 5 days. I wonder if i just stick with the half pill if i will continue to lose weight. Anyibe lose weight on 1/2 pill once a day??

CHRIS....adipex has no caffeine in it at all, the reason why some people stay awake, or have problems sleeping is because it is a stimulant. It is safe when taken the right way. I am currently on it, and have had no side effects other then dry mouth, and well no appetite, but thats good! Your gf may have been taking more then her body could handle. I am only taking half a pill in the morning and half a pill in the afternoon, I have lost 10 lbs in 5 days, sleeping fine, I have walked 2 miles every night since starting it.....u really have to embrace it as a life change! I am 5'0 tall and 26 and my bmi is 47.7.....This medication is intended to shrink your stomach over time do to the lack of appetite and not eating as much. You are to wean yourself off of it when you have reached your goals. Doctors cannot continue to keep you on it once you have reached 27 bmi if u are a healthy individual.

Well let me start out by saying that I started my weight loss journey back in Nov of 2009. I had made up my mind that I was done living at the weight of 411lbs. Since then I have lost 73lbs. (now 338) with diet and exercise. However, now it is April 2011 and it seems that my weight is at a standstill. After talking with my doctor she thought that Adipex would help me to loss more weight. It is April 29, 2011 and I took my first pill this morning. I have felt a little jiggery and I was able to walk on the treadmill for 40mins. (1mile). I have a lot more weight to loss and I hope that Adipex will help.

Well here is an update on my progress of losing weight with Adipex-P. I am working the Adipex-P with a 15 day free trail from diet power & it has help me to see my calorie intake & how much calories that I have burn for each day. I have lost about 6.6 pounds ever since I had went on Adipex -P along with the Diet Power & the results are going alittle better than last time that I had made a comment on. So If anyone try the Adipex-P along with Diet power free trail & you also will see where you stand on your calories. You log in your foods of how much you ate in oz or cups then log in your excersise of how much you have done you can keep up with your calorie burn & your calories that you can eat per day so give it a try you will end up buying it after you had used up your 15 day trail. I will update in about a week from today to let yall know how much weight that I have lost with the Adipex-P & the Diet power program. I can actually see where my calories are at & set my goal to what I want to lose by a certain date the diet power gives you a calorie diet that helps you out into losing weight. You just got to go by the calories that it sets you up with & you can lose quiet easy. So try it & let me know how it works.....
Well to start off I was 309LBS. & had gotten a gastric Bypass ( Roux-y-en Bypass) & I had lost 124 LBS with that. Well recently I had notice back in 2008 my weight was going up & down alot from 185LBS to 195 LBS. Today It has stay'd at 208LBS. The reason I had stopped losing weight from the bypass surgery is because I found a way to get around it by eatting every hour or 1 1/2 hour meaning I was Grzing all day long. Well I had asked my reg. Doctor about something to help me with my appetite. He perscrbed Adipex-P 37.5 mg to take once a day. Well I had started it last friday 11-5-2010. & on monday 11-8-2010 I had lost 5 LBs. Ok here is the problem Yesterday on 11-9-2010 I forgot to take my adipex-p before i had ate & then took it 30 minutes after. Well I am sorry to say it did not work at all with the no appetite because I notice I ate like I was not even on it. So I have learn if you eat before you take it, it does not work!!!! But the bad side effects are jitteriness & hard to even go to sleep at nights. So I am trying to give it a chance to work but I need to know how can you get it to work & not dye down after a few days? I am despert to lose weight & not get back up to who I use to be 309LBS because I was disable when I was at that weight. So Please someone anyone knows how to get this medication work without taking extra to help push it's effects??
First of all let me explain myself . Well I had gotten the gastic bypass the roux-y-en surgery back in 1998 12 yrs ago & the surgery had worked. I was at 309lbs & I had lost 124 pounds with that surgery. Well I had notice that I was gaining weight back ( up & down) about 2 yrs ago. I went from 185 pounds to now at 208 pounds. I spoke with my reg doctor about it & he perscribed me with Adipex-p 37.5 mg. Well I started it friday Nov 5 2010 & I went from 208Lbs to 199 LBs. It had worked ok but yesterday nov 9 2010 I had taken my adipex -p med & took a nap. When I had gotten up I notice that the Adipex-p was not working & I ate like I was not even on it. Some says that the Adipex-p works only a few weeks but as I had seen it only for a couple of days. The side effects was jitteriness & sleep was hard to do. I did not see any boost in my energy. All I wanted to do is sit all day & not move as much. I promised myself I would walk everyday but seem not to keep that promise. All I wanted to do is not even leave the house. But today I took the med & so far its working only if I keep drinking coffee or water to stop the dry mouth. But how can I get the Adipex-P to work good for me without taking more of it? Because I am despert & dont want to even look at my weight of 309LBs anymore !!! So is there any advice of how to keep the adipex-p to still work for me & to lose the weight that I want because my goal is to get down to 145LBS before the summer. They need to have a good weight plan to help out with this medication & make it more effectivly. I want it to work !!! I am willing to try any advice at this point.

I have been using adipex for three days now and so far I have lost 3lbs. Currently my weight is 209lbs but I would like to weigh 155lbs which is healthy for my height(5'8"). I take one pill in the morning and then I eat a sensible breakfast. I usually don't have an appetite for the rest of the day but I force myself to eat fruits and vegetables. I also drink alot of water to stay hydrated. The only side effect I have had is dry mouth. I definitely would recommend this product. It gives me alot of energy, so much so that I look forward to exercising.
