Diet-to-GoDiet Ingredients and Side Effects
Different food options are offered depending on what one’s specific needs are. The kinds of foods one will eat according to the standard meal plan can include:
• Bistro chicken salad.
• Barbecue chicken.
• Turkey picadillo.
• Orange roughy fish.
• Whole wheat bagel.
• Kale & swiss frittata.
There are several different food options, and they flash freeze meals to help preserve quality. This means that one can heat up their foods using a microwave where no other preparation is needed, simplifying the process of dieting. You can then minimize any prep time and have full meals ready to go by simply heating them.
There are also 4 different plans offered:
• Balance: This is the standard meal plan that the company has been using for over 20 years. It offers vegetarian and seafood free options. It’s said to be formulated with the guidance of chefs and nutritionists. According to the manufacturers, this is their most popular option.
• Balance Diabetes: This is made under the guidelines proposed by the American Diabetes Association. This is meant for those who have type-2 diabetes, or who are concerned about regulating their blood sugar. It has a balanced ratio of carbohydrates, and it’s made for people looking to lose between 5 to 10 pounds. It offers fewer carbohydrates than the Balance option.
• Carb30: Only 30 net carbohydrates are offered per meal. Net carbohydrates are calculated when one subtracts the carbohydrates from the fiber in a food. There’s no sugar, fruit, bread, or other carbohydrates offered. The kinds of meals are heavy on protein and it includes pork chip breakfast, beef short ribs, chicken alfredo, Indian turkey tenderloin, andouille sausage, and much more. It tends to be more meat based than the other plans.
• Vegetarian: For non-meat eaters this version offers heart healthy foods which are low in cholesterol, sodium, fats, and carbohydrates. The protein source comes foods such as beans, eggs, dairy, and a touch of soy.
The kinds of foods allowed range from protein rich meats to burgers, pastas, fruits, and egg based dishes. The premise of the diet is simple; introduce reduced calorie meals that only have to be heated. Since men and women’s options are available, the difference in calories can result in weight loss. This is because one is receiving less than the standard 2,000 calories a day as is often suggested in US based nutrition facts panels. I'm confused on your math. 3 meals a day for a week is 21. The cost is $185.59/21=$8.72.

I have accomplished a lot with my diet. The meals are great some aren’t but I can make changes ask questions and still drink water and excercise and I am doing well. I have lost 11.6 pounds and will keep doing well each time.

This food is absolutely not eatable ! It is worst than any frozen food you buy from a supermarket! Don't even try it.

The very first week of my meals I ordered apple pancakes. Heated up my food and bit into it and even though the package clearly said apple they were blueberry pancakes. What if I had a berry allergy???? Big time mistake. Fast forward I still continued with them. I normally get emails letting me know my food is on the way. My third week I chose to skip my meals for the week. Even though it was about a hour past deadline I was hoping it would allow me to cancel (previous week did not let me make changes after). To my surprise and excitement it let me make the changes. Keep in mind this is labor day so I assumed they were closed since its a federal holiday. I didn't get an email the next day saying that my meals were on the way as usual so again I'm thinking everything went through as I requested. Fast forward 2 days I see my card was charged for the whole week of meals. I called to let them know my complaint because I didn't even know that I had meals waiting for me. The manager Lora didn't even identify herself as the manager until I told her three times I wanted to speak to a manager. she started to get a little loud and rude and basically told me to stop assuming. So now I have food that's been sitting for DAYS that I can't and won't eat but they will not refund me my money for this week. Only a few weeks in and have had multiple problems with them. Not only that their meals are FULL of carbs. I don't see how anyone can really lose weight that way. Canceling my subscription and NEVER ordering from them again

Understand upfront that most folks who take to review something like a diet service are those who are dissatisfied. I am not one of those - Diet to Go has worked very well so far. Today is day 37 and I've lost 22 lbs. I am exercising 3-4 days per week for 25-30 minutes.
posted May 24th, 2017 3:15 pmI have been very pleased with the quality and taste of the food. And the convenience is unsurpassed. If you want to complain about taste, don't go near freeze dried plans like Medifast - there's only so much soy protein isolate that one can withstand. Diet to Go gives you a broad variety of real food, usually (not always) with healthy ingredients with low or no preservatives. And unlike what another review said, these meals are not frozen - they are brought near the freeze point and then packed with dry ice so you will see some frost on items but it is not frozen.
There are a couple things they certainly could improve on. While the do make a very good effort to package things well, the actual shipping is out of their hands. I've received a couple containers that while still intact on the outside, obviously got carelessly bounced around by either Fed Ex or UPS. It resulted in a couple lids within an individual meal container (the overall meal was still individually wrapped and sealed) coming off, thus leaking some juice that made another part of the meal a little soggy. I also had an entire meal container cracked. But customer service was more than helpful - no questions asked, instant refund on my credit card.
I always said that if you stuck healthy, tasty food that was ready to eat in front of me that I would eat it. Diets to Go is proving that I wasn't lying!

Love Diet To Go ! It's my go to . I work a lot and don't feel like cooking. Not only is convenient but tastes great! I lost 25 pounds and have kept it off.

I recently signed up for Diet-to-Go's 5 day a week, lunch and dinner plan. I was skeptical, to be honest. I'm a 53 year old man, who works a lot, goes to school, and helps care for an elderly relative. I'm also a type-2 diabetic. I signed up mostly for convenience, and to eat better food than fast food in my crazy busy life.
posted May 11th, 2017 4:21 pmI chose the Carb 30 plan, because I thought the food looked a little better/more varied than the diabetic plan, tho low-carb eating is good for diabetics too. I reviewed the first month of menus, and only substituted one item that didn't sound "amazing".
I've now eaten several days worth of meals, and I'm super impressed. I was worried the portions would be tiny, and I'm a 260 pound man. But so far, the portions have been pretty decent (if still hungry, I can just add a salad, which I always have at home, but haven't so far).
The freshness, and the awesome preparations so far have really impressed me. So much great flavor. If it keeps going like this, I'm pretty excited about the future. The prices stretch my charity-employee budget a bit, but will evaluate as I go along. They're cheaper than a lot of competitors, and they have 2 different menu plans good for diabetics.
I pick up at a gym near my home, twice a week, and it's just all super convenient.
Thanks for making my life easier, and for helping me be healthier!

CARB 30 LIKE AND DON'T LIKE EQUALLY
posted Apr 12th, 2017 12:08 pmLIKES: Delivery and portioning so I don't have to. Cost is okay. Losing 1 size down a plus but did not weigh less; fine with me.
DON'T LIKES: Since I hate white meat chicken breast, I ate it anyway, but majority of meal meats was that. Seasoning of veggies do not go with the entree. Too many times green and red peppers and onions used to no effect. Taste to me from 1 to 10 is a 3. Hate collecting the styrofoam coolers but started making an igloo for the grandkids. As time went on, I became anxious over the food to almost nauseated; 3 months is all I can stand.

There was 1 meal a week that was good. Most were mushy and salty. I put on weight with the meals. As soon as i stopped the weight dropped right off. Do not waste your money......

So I have had 3 orders delivered after which I have decided to cancel this service.
posted Mar 25th, 2017 10:11 amMy meals arrived damaged several times, because they pack them with bricks of dry ice which damages the plastic film that covers each meal. Other meals, that did not get damaged, would just have chunks of ice inside. Also, apart from those bricks of packaged ice they put between the meals, they put some ice underneath those meals. On each of my deliveries that ice was all over the package and it requires special handling, because it burns the fingers if you touch it (Dry Ice).
I called customer service on my first delivery(2 weeks go), they said that the amount for the damaged meal will be credited back, but it never was. Called them today, regarding last order, which had 3 items damages and the customer service rep put me on hold 3 times to answer other calls at which point I just told her that I want to cancel my service.
They had no intentions of making it up to me or at least apologizing.
Terrible food, terrible packaging, terrible customer service.

Hello, I tried the meals for one week to see what they were like. I found the first three to be very good, however, there was one, a humungous turkey ball with spicy noodles that really upset my stomach. It was so bland and the turkey ball was oversized and had a stringy texture. This was definitely a thumbs down for me. There were vegetables but they could not be chewed, they were too fibrous, I ended up sucking on them and them spitting them out discreetly. Such a shame to have wasted them. I would recommend smaller turkey ball, less chili, chewable vegees, and a light cream sauce or more of the red sauce but without the abundant red chili peppers. Other than that I like the convenience of picking up the meals and not having to cook. I appreciate the efforts the company is putting into providing this type of service.

I'm not sure of the claims about the food being disgusting, mushy, distasteful. This is my second go round with Diet-to-Go. I have always lost weight. This time I lost 6lbs the first week. I like all of my meals. Some I may care for a bit more than others. If that's the case in the subsequent weeks I can make substitutions for that particular meal. Not sure where people are getting frozen meals. Food is never frozen/freezer burned. Thanks for helping me obtain my weight loss goals DTG!

I ordered 5 days worth of meals and I certainly am glad that was all I ordered the food was not good and once thawed out mushy. I ate of it what I could because I did not want to waste my money. I would definitely not recommend Diet to go and customer service sucks!!!

Your company clearly doesn't get enough business. You are trying to gain customers through small Cardio studios fb pages, clean up your act. You use fake fb accounts, then post comments on there largest seen post? Get your own customers your own way. Stop riding on the coat tails of small businesses. It's just bad business.

ME DELONG
What a scam. I put in an order by phone and they sent me a different item but charged me for the most expensive one. When the food arrived it was a real disappointment. I sure learned my lesson

-I was not expecting much. I understand that these types of meals will not be gourmet. My only expectation was that the food would be edible. I was very disappointed. 90% of the meals delivered to me have literally been inedible. This is by far the worst "food" I have ever had. Everything from the texture of the food (if its supposed to be crunchy its soggy if its supposed to be soft its hard) to the actual taste (the breakfast chicken sausage patties taste so bad I can't even tell you). I asked several friends to try it just in case I was wrong. I was not wrong. They all said to demand my money back because the quality and taste of the food was ridiculously bad. I forgot to cancel my order after the first week so I got a second week delivered. I gave away every meal and everyone I talked to had to throw their meal away after they tasted it because it was just so bad. Seriously, they all threw them away after 1 bite. Please do not waste your money on this sham. There are better companies out there.

+I started the Balanced-D plan (lunch and dinner only- 5 days a week; pick up my own) for 4 weeks now. I wish the carbs were less per meal (they seem high), but they do keep to there

-The food was awful. The breakfasts were more like desert. One breakfast meal had 43 grams of sugar - OMG. I should have known better. I am a good cook, know how to eat right, but just thought I would try this for convenience. What a wast of money!

-They claim it’s all freshly made that week and shipped out to you, yet it’s frozen and looked to be such for at least a couple weeks from the freezer burn. Does not match what they show on the website at all. Took forever to get here too, ordered it on Saturday but it didn’t get here until Thursday, then you have to defrost the meals over night the night before so couldn’t try it until Friday. Tried all three meals and they were terrible. Yet when we went to cancel it shows that you can’t cancel for the next week if it’s after noon on Friday. Called customer service at 5pm (the website says they are open until 9pm) picked the option that I was a current customer and waited on hold for five minutes only to be sent to voicemail. Called back in and said I was a new customer and got someone after two rings. The woman I talked to was very rude and said that I was canceling late. In the end they claimed they would refund the money for both weeks. But it was not worth the hassle. If you’re going to spend the money, spend a little more and go with a place that really has fresh food. If you don’t mind frozen then just get it from the store.
